Hi Chris,
yes Paul and Knowlesy were very kind to me, and did give me plently of options. I will definitely continue to use them for servicing. But I've come to the decision that perhaps they are not the best for rebuilding an engine as standard.
API specialise in engines and as such have spent time finding optimium suppliers of engine parts. Knowlesy to my knowledge just orders parts in from main dealer. This is the main reason for price difference. As an example Xtreme want £400+VAT for engine gasket set. I believe API get the gaskets needed for £150+VAT.
I agree cheaper isnt always better, but in this case I think it has paid me to ask around.
