I guess the TSL fuel pump must be so much better than the PPP one then. My car has been used a little enthusiastically and never misses a beat

thanks for all the replies guys
I spent nearly 12 hours straight Meguiring the beasty after I got her at the weekend - now looks awesome - Am I being a wimp, I dont fancy taking her out in all this rain and mud, now she looks better than she did in the showroom, and with a belly full of Optimax.... (still diluted with Dealer's Tescos finest...)
I sooo, want to take her out to play, but the weather really is, err, no too good here at the mo - even filled all the holes in the drive so she doesnt have to splash her way through those nasty muddy puddles.....
..and this was going to be my practical every day car.....

It's a rally car... driving on these damp days is the best!! it's the only time you get the safe "tail outs" when nailing it out of a junction on lock..
Get out there and give it some.......
Lets face it...you are gunna have to clean it again at the weekend anyway..

I think you may also be confusing the fault code diagnosis procedure with ECU reset. Aren't they 2 entirely separate operations? [Black to black for fault codes. Black to black AND green to green , ignition on, depress accelerator fully for a few secs and then release, start engine and drive for at least a minute to reset the ECU]

fear not 10/10, I have no intention to stick my hand up her dash and fiddle about...!
Did that with the Pug GTi6, following mechanics advice - now have engine warning 'STOP' ... - will stick to polishing and driving on modern hi tech cars!

PPP
GRIFF, regarding the feel of the PPP, I think between 3000 & 5500 is where it's most impressive (I have a MY02 STI PPP) & although it will rev round to the red line it doesn't feel like it really wants to.
(run mine on Optimax).
Don't be fooled though it IS a fast car, probably the fastest I've ever owned
(& that includes a few Camaro/Corvette V8's)
Cheers, John

Now, as you pointed out, it's not a rally car, but my point to Griff007 was that he should not worry about getting it dirty because most people associate the Imprezza to rallying, and so a mucky one will still look great...
if you want to re-read my comment then you will see what I was getting at.

Ah right......
Walk down to your local Citroen/Peugeot dealer and buy a 300bhp 4wd car then....
Oh sorry.... they don't sell them....
Do you see my point?
Or are you so unwilling to see how other people think that you will swear black is white..!
Pull my head in!
You are the one who started this slagging match...or had you forgot that?
let me remind u:

My point is (and always has been)
that the Subaru LOOKS like it's Rally Brother,
And thus is aimed at the "rally enthusiast" buyer....
They even call their top model (sorry JDM guys) the WR1 (what does WR stand for?)
Now if I wanted to buy a Peugeot/Citroen I would not get one because of their Rally results... no...because they do not sell a " Rally Replica " they sell shopping trollies...
My point is Subaru's whole STI range is based on the Rally Replica theme...
Any of this getting through?
