Hi ya all,
Apologies for delay in producing this report.
Wednesday's 'Birthday Treat', mission accomplished.
Thanks to all that submitted postings as I am sure that all your comments helped to progress this plot to a very successful conclusion.
We would like here, to express our very sincere thanks to TDT for having volunteered for this mission, for having communicated with us so effectively, for having been so reliable and cooperative and for having very skilfully, safely and legally wowed us with a demonstration of his scooby's performance.
After the 'scooby drive experience' we were privileged to have TDT's agreeable company at our local pub, where over a light meal we were able to hear about first-hand practical aspects of scooby ownership. The birthday cake did not go with us to the pub, so unfortunately, TDT missed out on that. We know that we were very lucky to have had our original request picked up by him and we look forward to meeting up with TDT again sometime. This time though, it should be us doing the two-hundred mile round trip.
Birthday Girl's day at school had been awful. She'd suffered a headache all day, had sat a previously missed test during her lunch break and had spent twenty minutes after school, unsuccessfully searching for her elusive maths teacher for help with a homework problem. Despite all that, when she finally came out and spotted the scooby parked along the road, her reactions did not dissapoint us. She had no hesitation settling into the front passenger seat, almost as though she had been in training for this very day.
When I have learnt which buttons to press, there should be two piccys in my next posting. Hopefully, they will show Birthday Girl with Scooby immediately after the ride. After the pub visit, Birthday Girl had to have a lay down for about an hour and that helped to soothe her headache. As the evening progressed, realisation of what had happened began to sink in and it became clear to us all that her infatuation for scoobies had been further enhanced by the ride experience. She went to bed, as a very happy girl. In the morning she declared that she'd had a very good sleep!
Thank you ScoobyNet

Will look forward to seeing her contribution to the regular Scoobynet thread that is "What was your 1st experience of a Scoob ? " in a few years time
Well done TDT and glad you got it all sorted. If I may suggest, the Northern Big One is an annual event held at Lightwater Valley near Ripon, N. Yorkshire where last year there were 402 Scoobs in attendance. Even without a Scoob anyone is welcome. IIRC it's usually in July/August. I think she might enjoy that

At last, I have created website containing previously mentioned pics of Birthday Girl taken after her dream Scooby Ride, go to :-
http://kazopics.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk
Yesterday, due to demands on space and on my time as a result of on-going 'front garden alteration to parking area' works, I had to refuse offer of free car (Sierra) for daughter to use as a racing banger. Still not really sure whether banger racing is good training for a would-be Scooby driver? We'll think again mid-2005.
G'nite.

Hi Everyone,
I guess that this thread has just about run it's course. Thanks to its success is due to all of you who have contributed postings and those who have taken an interest in reading the thread. We have been overwhelmed by the response to our original request and have really looked forward to reading all subsequent comments. We feel as though we have been welcomed into your community, thanks for that.
Due to natural parental caution, in all previous postings I have deliberately referred to her as "our daughter" or "birthday girl" and now it seems right, that after all the interst shown, we can finally refer to her by her name .. Emily.
Thanks are also due to Little Miss WRX for the sensitivity shown in her role as moderator. I fully intended to print out a copy of the thread and now Emily will have a fitting momento of the plotting that went into arranging her surprise Scooby Ride.
I have introduced Emily to Scoobynet and she avidly checks it out on a daily basis and gets knowledge and amusement from reading postings of many threads and pleasure from looking at pictures of members cars. It won't be long, I am sure, before Emily registers as a Scoobynet member and starts writing postings of her own, you have been warned!
Regards, Kazik
P.S. A message from Emily ...

It has become so common place in his area and many are concerned about their Families personal safety, even in their own homes he and many others have sold their Scoobs so they can sleep at night. At the moment I have far more fun than depressing times
Any way, we are trying to keep this Topic on a Positive note, the 'Good side of Scoob ownership'
Happy Birthday Emily

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year to you all
Father Christmas didn't bring us a Scoob, he took one look at the present state of our driveway and suggested that a JCB would be more appropriate. Looks like front garden make-over and garage emptying will have to be completed before we can become fully fledged scoobyites.
However, in the meantime, we shall be indulging our dream-car-fetish by attending Bedford Track Day on Feb 26th. We've already bought three spectator passes, really looking forward to the day, hope to meet some of you there.

Our daughter is Scooby mad but has never actually been inside the car of her dreams. From school, we would appreciate a country roads/dual carriageway detoured trip of about 10 miles distance back to our house. We are sure that a trip in a WRX Scooby would be the highlight of our daughter's celebrations and so different to travelling in our MPV.
Naturally we would cover driver's expenses for this treat.
If there is anyone who may be able to help, then please email me. Thankyou
