Lets all say compensate, since the maf is merely a device for picking an engine load point (in conjunction with several other sensors btw) the value of timing or fueling at the point it picks is fixed, the maf cannot compensate that value, by design it can compensate for air density in that it will generate a different output however it still relies on the fixed map value at that different point being correct, and it still cannot alter it. Anyway nothing to do with headers so apologies for that.
