The quotes were £2300, and £2600 respectively, so more per month than he'd be paying on the car

Try the Co-Op. In my experience they're virtually unbeatable for youngsters in lower group cars.

Thats the problem, everyone is saying o wait a while, then get a scooby, i want one now!

At the moment im driving a 1.9 TDi Audi, n thats quite nippy in respect to it being a diesel!, im going to go and havea look at some other cars. i fancy a reno GT5 turbo, and ill have a look at the justys!

still dont stop me doing a scooby up, n keeping it in my garage, for a year or more!

I would not get a R5GT, they fall apart at speed plus they are old hat and they don't look very safe unlike your Audi, i say stick with the Audi for a couple of year to build up ur NCB, then get a Scooby...thats what im going

I had a R5GTT and they are wicked cars, cheap to run and don't break down like everyone thinks.

I very much doubt you'd get a sensible quote on a GT Turbo mate. Basically, you need to look at cars with an insurance grouping less than 10 to get anwhere near sensible money, which pretty much precudes any turbos that aren't diesels, GTis, SXis, RS's, VTSs, XRis etc...... A little 1.3 pug or equivalent would be a great start, cheap and won't hurt your credibility with the lads!

Look at it this way, you may not be able to afford to insure a scooby yet, but you're young, enjoy it!! :-) Before you know it, you'll be 23 with 5 years NCB and looking at a reasonable quote for a WRX!

Best,
