I've done the hovercraft bit and found the professor type bloke but now I'm playing CS:S which is where I'm likely to stay Well, at least until I get a better graphics car so I can enjoy the scenery in HL2 a bit more.

Works fine for me (no crashes at all)...

Home built P4 2.5Ghz, 1Gb ram, SB Audigy 2 Platinum ex, and a 256Mb ATI X800XT Plantinum.

Runs silky smooth at 1024x768 with all settings ramped up to maximum

Yeah - I got that with the new (eg about a month old) ATI drivers. Reverted to the old (from summer), got a message that they were outdated but clicked to continue anyway and no more crashes, still works fine........

Running fine on my machine. Only been playing an hour or so.

Its very good.

Weirdest thing though. My surname is freeman, so evertime so one in the game says "Hello Dr Freeman or Hello Mr Freeman" its like they are actually talking to me.

Makes the game (if possible) a little bit better.

Aha! I have put the new ones on because of that msg. Looks like a roll back or get the more reliable Omega ones.

Cheers

Just had my first ever go on counterstrike.

It all looked a tad confusing LOL What's the best way to get into playing, I don't just want to enter any game where everyone else has been playing for years and gets annoyed with me LOL

Any tips?

Any plans for any Snet only games?

Cheers,

Gareth

If your having performance problems on an ATI card try the 4.10 catalysts. I had 3.10's and was running slow framerate in CS. I tried 4.11's but had problems with ATI Control Panel so stepped back to 4.10 and now works fine with about an extra 20fps so CS Source is pretty smooth now even on my 9600 pro and athlon 1400.

It's FF on
TKPunish on
Kill Friendly within 10 seconds of map start = kick
Fixed chase cam

Valve hasn't turned on VAC2 (anti-cheat widget) yet, but will hopefully do so in the comming week.

They are releasing the SDK and a "supprise" at the end of the week. I've no idea what it is - but hopefully some more maps for CS.

Hi BlkKnight,

Tried to join on to your server the other day but it looked like it was using a custom map and it wouldn't let me in. Is there anywhere I can DL the map pack from for he server?

ah, it was a map one of our guys was playing with. It's not finished yet. It's based on the venue where we hold out events.

You can get it from:

www.lanse.co.uk/lanse2.rar

The server is back on the standard rotation now.

A small question for you guys, I've had a quick look for it elsewhere but couldn't see anything, so here goes.....

The results screen is too big, it obscures the chat messages at the end of the game, and all of the option windows are too big when you escape out of the game. Also the name of the player when the crosshair falls on them is huuuuge. Anyone know of any way to reduce the size of these??
