Before I got my Type-R I contemplated an Evo 8 MR FQ330 and found out that it was nearly £100 cheaper to insure than my Scooby!!!!!!

And the Evo was only £13000 Tax Free to buy!!!!!!!

yup very bad experience, with the insurance company and their team of solicitors.

The very very breif version of events....took them over 2 years to process a claim for me and in the end the solicitors told me to give up and accept the loss, I took the third party to court on my own and got my no-claims back.

Bear in mind that this was 2 years with a fault claim on my license because they could not clear it for me.

Every step of the way they were useless, the service was laughable at best.

Would never ever use them again.

I was looking to change to a my99 uk turbo and Tescos wanted 750.

My current insurer Adrian Flxu, who were cheaper by hundreds on the 19, wanted 2k!

(23, 4 years ncd)

Yesterday my dad called up Adrian Flux, and was told that me as a named driver would have to be 25! (I'm 24 with a v6 firebird insured through them!!)

Also he was told that the 2.0 GL AWD automatic he was trying to insure was a hatch - "no it is a 4 door saloon not a wagon" oh and that we must be mistaken about AWD, they don't know what awd is.... However if we meant 4x4 then well, that was on their system...

I hate insurers...
Hi,

I'm 24 (female tho) and mine is an 02 WRX. I'm not sure on the exact price as I just swapped the insurance over from my 2.2 Vectra SRI and it cost me an extra £450.

I think when I was looking to check I could insure it Tesco was the cheapest and it was coming up at about a grand, which I thought was quite cheap as it included my hubby having 3 points for speeding.

We are currently with Admiral but they don't know about the mods which I am going to have to declare at renewal time! The only thing about them is that they don't give discounts for having a Tracker fitted.

Correct for most companies, I'd be driving round in a nice RB5 WR Sport if they didn't change their policies early this year. Had been quoted £1700 fully comp (21, 1yr NCD, 0pts, 1claim non-fault) at the end of last year through Tesco, now 22 2yrs NCD & can't get a quote with them, Admiral & Elephant want >£2.5k on a standard UK MY99/00 turbo when the quotes last year from them were considerably cheaper for a ppp'd rb5

Even a 14 year old 1.8Gti 8v Golf worth £1800 is costing me £700 to insure fully comp through Admiral who were the cheapest but get this they only want an extra £148 to upgrade to a Clio 172 Cup worth £9k with 9 months of policy left

I've had an Impreza turbo since I was 22 with 3 years NCB. I started off with Barclaycard insurance for £1000 (no tracker or extra security req'd)

Each year it's come down in price - now I'm 25 I'm paying £700(ish) including a decent amount of mods with Bell Direct. Interestingly, the TVR Griffith 500 is at least £50 cheaper to insure from the same company.

now 24 and paying £720 on my98 uk turbo, both with tesco.
Must have a tracker and £250 xs for being under 25.
try the internet and phoning a couple of times too because i managed to get the quote down by £40 and all my details were the same!!!!!!
