What about VTA dump valves - they serve no purpose and only draw attention to you in the same way flamer kits do. Are dump valves now chav too?
They were Chav well before flame kits
With exception to the standard recirc DV which does serve a purpose - and is also subtle (unless you fit a induction kit) unike its VTA counterpart

Generally anything you can think of with regard to modding a car that alters its outward appearance is chav in varying degrees. Things like bigger turbos and uprated suspension are (I beleive but don't quote me) allowed as it would appear you are a driving mans man not a boy ricer.
How about a poll with the above mods and a way of doing "Got, Got, Need, Swap" etc etc....

I think a Flamer kit would be great for when you've got some a**hole tailgating you at 80mph on the M25. One flick of the switch and he'd back off
Otherwise, pretty sad really.

All young people want to draw attention to themselves - we're just *made* that way. All animals do it, but fortunately the rest of the animal kingdom has never heard of flamer kits! Anyone still doing this after about 25 though i would suggest has other "issues" which things like this are attempting to overcome, whether they know it or not...

I have a Flamer kit and I'm no CHAV. I'm married with kids, I don't own anything made by burberry, and I don't read lax power or fart car or any of the other rags. My scoob is my toy, toy=FUN. That's all the flamer kit is, a bit of fun. My scoob has plenty of performance increasing mods, it's currently at 340ish bhp with handling mods and brakes to match. It does flame naturally but the kit induced flames are bigger. And as for people saying they don't look like the real thing, I would agree they don't look realistic when revving at a standstill, but the flash flames during gear changes look exactly the same as natural flames, but bigger.
Like I've said it's all about fun, nothing more.

I can see it all now. .......
<conversation with "mates>
"what shall we do?"
"dunno, something fun?"
"yeah, great idea..what shall we do?"
"Well we could go outside and watch my flamer kit put some flames out for 10mins"
"wow man, cool"
<picture group of people standing round the rear of a scooby revving and spitting flames>
I'll say no more

Yes, that's exactly what I meant by fun. I often get my mates to stand around watching the rear of my car spitting flames. You're right. That was the whole reason for fitting it.

Let's be clear, if *nobody* noticed the fake flames your car is now capable of producing, there would be NO reason to have it. None at all.
It is an attention-seeking bolt-on.
Look at yourself in a mirror, and ask yourself who you really are. I'm quite certain that you don't actually know yourself....

I know perfectly well who I am, a doting father and loving husband, with a stable job and a fun hobby, which the flamer kit is part of. Don't ******* patronise me. There's no deep psychological reason for fitting the flamer, I fitted it because I wanted the car to expel flames. That's it. Most of the time I use it is in a dark lane, to entertain myself of my kids, when there are no other cars around.
