what clutch for 400 bhp
#61
ahh right.
I mentioned it for a 400lbft application because I know it has been fine so far for significantly more than that, on mine and on trouts.
Mine has done about 800 miles now, and has been full bore quite a few times, but not track days and not launching off the line.
I am not sure that makes too much difference since in the lower gears there isn't the load to get max torque.
Flooring in 3rd 4th and 5th happens all the time, and the only slip I have had so far is all four wheels slipping, and with 255 profiles!
btw. I suggest you come and see the type of driving available round here. I don't think you know where I live exactly, but suiffice to say the country side and open roads are less than 30 mins away and I don't use this car for commuting generally.

My comments on driving were related to a previous thread where you guys claimed it was impossible to map cars on the roads down there as they are so busy.
I agree it is a good clutch for 400ftlb region although Callum will be way above that on his 2.5 once its mapped.

I thought this question was being asked by simbo?
Wasn't having a dig about the roads, just saying normally that would apply but my car is used solely for pleasure (normally) and so I tend to go looking for roads.
The cotswolds are just 80 mins away, which is an easy drive for the weekend, then there is the new forest. PLenty nice roads if yuo are willing to seek them out, which I do tend to do.

clutch
I've had a few problems with my 2.5 finding the right clutch and gearbox, heres what I put on: Exedy multi-plate clutch. I had this fitted to a normal 5 speed gear box because I didnt have enough money for a 6 speed at the time! I had to take it off because oil was coming out of the gearbox. I've now found a 6 speed gearbox and I was just wondering if any of you were running an Exedy multi plate with a 6 speed, I've been told it will go straight on. I'm running 425 torque and 401 bhp.
Any advice on clutches welcome!
