I currently drive a my99 uk turbo. Happy with it and not so keen on the looks of the newer scoobs. I think it comes down to a question of what you want the car for! If you want a ***** out racing feel then get a classic. If you want comfort style (interior) and safety (and still power) get a newage. I have actually been considering trading mine in for an 01 WRX. I am getting old though.....

Prob buy a bugeye Spec C when I stop riding tho...kinda ugly but does exactly what it says on the tin.
Flaired arches on a new Sti Spec wagon I'd cancel my order for a 350z for that! Be excellent!

I think its the biggest mistake Subaru have made with the new age Scoobs, there is nothing to fill the butch five door fire breather role if you can't streatch to an S4...

I had 10K to spend and although for that or a bit more I could pick up a bug eye, I didn't like it as much as a classic.

Interior isn't great and build isn't as good as something german for sure. Blob eyes I quite like so money permitting I would buy a new STI.

Classic for me all the way, got mine back in feb04 and havent looked back since. Next car well that would have to be another classic either P1 or STI6

Friend has a blobeye PPP'ed and imo didnt seem much between us, not sure how hard he was pushing mind you. Mine:MY00PPP Decat

In my opinion and it is only my opinion the latest blobeye looks in standard trim alittle girlie, i belive you have to spend abit of cash tarting them up.

I have a 03 WRX PPP and a MY98 UK Classic(unmodded). The new age wins over my old classic in every way. The drive is more involvin, the steering/brakes are better, the handling is much much better and there is far less turbo lag. I also prefer the looks/refinement and safety features. Me and the missus fight over who gets the new age all the time. I thought it would be cool having two scoobs , but the truth is the classic feels crap after being in the new age and i think we are going to sell it and get something completely different.
I know some people miss the rawness of the Classic, i fitted an MRT panel filter to my New age and that brought back the sound of the turbo and dumpvalve as it sounds in an unmodded classic.

Mind due put 320bhp into a lightweight classic with a short ratio gearbox and still brings a smile to the face.

Spent 7.5k on a classic and about the same again modding it. I've got the car more how i want it, than i would if i'd gone for a newer model. Do prefer the look of the classic as well.
