If you think the P1 was such a great car you clearly dont have much of a clue!!.
The 05 car as "standard" does probably handle better.
But firstly we should perhaps fit the same wheels and tyres then do a comparison as as much as I like the wheels on my WR1 the tyres are no-where near as good as the RE`s.
The geom can be changed on a WR1 to the smae spec as an 05 car.
My car has different front and rear bars and anti lift kit and with the standard P Zero`s understeer is just not there.
The very best cars in the World understeer a little.
I can make any car how ever good it is understeer.
You need to understand driving dynamics a little to even know what or why it happens.
I think the 05 car is a cracking car and would have bought one myself but dont want blue interior and wanted a different colour exterior.
stick the bits on an 05 car with PPP (that has less power I might add) and the WR1 is very good value plus you have a car that will de-value a lot or a little more as there are shed loads of them about.
I think you will struggle to find a genuine new WR1.

well iliked my p1 having paid much less than original price,as i said there are 13 wr1's sitting at subaru garages because no one wants an 04 car, glad you have modified your car to 05 spec but invalidating your warranty?!
regarding devaluation a wr1 on e-bay is selling for £23,000 about fair price i presume all imho and i would be more than happy to learn from an obvious master like yourself re driving dynamics
martin
is it me or do wr1 owners constantly defend how good their car is to justify the price they paid, freud would have a field day if he met you-a life's work from one person!

No my car is not 05 spec thats not what I said.
The 05 car has wider hubs and wider wheels and spec c arms.
WR1 owners if they are like me anyway dont give a toss.
It just rattles my cage when I read total bollox from people who know nothing about the cars they drive.
A WR1 will hold its value far more than a run of the mill STI fact.
Which is why the P1`s are still holding their money better now than a regular WRX.
And the tossers at IM built 1000 of them.
I seem to remember the first 500 selling rather quickly.......about the same rate as the WR1 I guess

Perhaps we all need to remember that it is horses for courses.
As long as you are happy with your car who gives a rats ****.
The WR1 is the best value for money UK car ever produced and cannot be argued with end of story.
It however isnt the best Subaru that you can buy and I never said it was.
I believe that the T25 is but doesnt make a very good proposition for me if you take future "one off specials" depreciation into account and cast iron warranties.
A great car nonetheless and I am always prepared to congratulate Iain.
IM will never produce a car like that for far more complicated reasons. The only way it will happen will be as with the WR1 as after sales bits and bobs added on.

Oh and yes there are 13 as all the main Subaru dealers use that as well as Subaru`s own site to sell cars.
Oh and check out the prices as they all seem to be nearly full list.

i love a bit of banter-one garage is selling their wr1 for £27,000 1,000 miles no takers!i think the p1's sold out ,well at least the first 500,much quicker than the wr1 has-i wonder why that is?and why is it so many wr1 owners have invalidated thie warranty by decatting/remapping/suspension changes-you may as well get a 04 sti and modify it
at least we agree the t25 is a better car and hopefully im will release an equivalent in the near future
i somehow doubt i could be forced into buying a wr1 as i drove it and did not like it compared to mine still the same ppp judderiness and the one i drove had a whiney diff in auto which the dealer assured me "they are all like that" i much prefer my 03sti with light mods and felt i did not like the colour/spec , as you say horses for courses and my daughter did not like it either and that decided it for me
