I should think so too! But why have they made them bigger in the meantime?

A new style MOT Test Certificate is larger than the old MOT Test Certificate and has printed rather than hand-written details.

So we're down to complaining that a piece of paper has got bigger under Labour - well that's it then - vote them out now

A valid point... if, and only if, all my other complaints were not valid. Sadly for you they ARE valid, so this is just another straw, a small one admittedly , to add to the already overburdened camel's back!

Edited to add: and, if you read my earlier post, its not just the MOT certificate either, marking a general rising trend in bureaucracy!

So leaving aside the fact that you only *think* your other complaints are valid why are you discussing the size of a piece of paper if so many other more worthy complaints exist.

Could it be that all your complaints are of a similar level of importance to the size of a piece of paper or maybe the paper size thing is the only one that can not be argued against.

Still at least you can spell bureaucracy unlike NSR's resident pseudo-intellectual political 'expert'

Yes I have read your earlier post and I believe you claim my driving licence has doubled in size. Now I would imagine you're pretty good at basic arithmetic hence how is a counterpart/photo licence double the size of the old licence? I have both here and I can't get it to more than about a 10% increase and that's before you factor in the fact that we now have a photo on the licence.

See, I can do pedantry and detail with the best of them

More needless paper! Why??
You're off again! This time about a piece of paper! Chill out man!

Perhaps its because it symbolises the waste and inefficiency of a government who likes to change things for the worse. It irritates me and, as didn't vote for Labour, I am entitled to complain about it.

A bit like the way you feel moaning about my chosen example of waste is important enough for you to have a pop at.

Again, in the same post you attack me for bringing up gripes you think are insignificant you belittle people for making typos on a bbs.

It was a figure of speech. I am unable to get out my ruler, as you have done, to measure it because I don't have one, I still have an old style license.

The reason I have an old style one is because I refuse to go to the inconvenience of trading it in for something that I will have to renew more regularly, is more cumbersome than its predecessor and is pointlessly split in two, each part being useless without the other!

The address on my driving license points to my parents' former address where the original house has since been knocked down and a new one built in its place, now occupied by a leading member of the band AC/DC I believe! There's another one for the rap sheet, eh popeye?

See, I can do pedantry and detail with the best of them
Of that, no one was in any doubt! I had a wager with a fellow member that, since you are now occupying an official scoobynet position, you would wind your neck in somewhat. One of the few times I have been wrong, so thank you for showing me up!

No sh*t Sherlock!

Have you ever considered a career as a traffic warden? I'm sure that you'd be much much better at that than your apparent attempts at 'moderation'

OMG now we're into quoting/replying to every part of a post - dangerous territory so I shall refrain Here are my choice 'cuts'.

Not people, one person. Said person is always alluding to being politically educated so as I have said before 'if you can talk the talk you should at least be able to spell it'

You're welcome. I can guess who the 'member' might be

As for the driving licence I don't need a ruler to work out it's about 10% bigger thank you.

What I will say ajm is that I do enjoy our exchanges and you've got to admit this is so much more fun than agreeing about Blue Velvet isn't it?

Absolutely! You may be lacking in most of the qualities that make a good moderator, but you do have one of the more important ones, namely you are clearly a glutton for punishment!

Oh thanks!

As for the mod qualities, in my defence I will say that at least I haven't vaped anyone's posts based purely on my dislike of their online persona (well not yet anyway).

Cheers,

tiggers.

I had noticed that actually, and very admirable of you I'm sure!

Needless to say the moment you do vape a thread based on your "dislike of their online persona" will be the day the Policy forum takes the biggest pounding it has ever seen!

Chip

The reason for asking is that all the pages i found do not have the facility to ask anyone. Or it gives you little info at all.

Like this thread suggests - I guess its a promise the Tory's can't keep!!!!

Felix,

Following discussions a couple on months ago in here about the Tories policy on law and order I went to their site and tried to find any pages relating to this - couldn't find anything except a consulation white paper on children committing petty crime. So I used their 'Contact Us' link to ask them for information.

I'm still waiting!!!
