Mitsubishi going bust gaffe - check
Sell more/More popular so must be better - check
Stripped out import track special vs uk market creature comforts model comparison - check
Come on, wheres the short fuel range? Servicing cost/frequency? Hard ride? How about some banter about 0-60 times as well? You guys are slacking!

I use the 320 as they will be about the same power.

I can never understand why so many Evo owners spend so much time on here defending their precious pride and joy. There must be a lot of other things they could spend their time on, like facial surgery, or new clothes?

Oh dear, what have I started. There's me thinking that EVO was a reasonably well respected mag with real people driving interesting cars on real roads which is what all of us are isn't it?????. All I stated was what I read and happened to agree with.
The Subaru is far easier to drive quickly and instills confidence as soon as you start off. The Evo is also very good but needs to be worked much harder to achieve the same result.....just my opinion.

One problem with the EVO V Scooby debate has been until recently all EVO's were full power group A derived cars yet scoobys had a range from relativley low powered turbos to type R's. Its made the scooby range more numerous but makes comparisons more difficult.
I actually found my EVO to be more confidence inspiring than my STi, the total lack of understeer and fantastic high speed stability was better than my current car (but I think somethings wrong with it )

Yes, they sell lots of Scoobies for a reason - they are cheap, they spunk them out of the door etc. Shall we compare residuals of the 2 similar age/model cars? Ok, no lets not - we wouldnt want to upset you lot

Because there are a quite frankly HUGE amount of people who join in these posts and 'claim' all these facts about Evo's which they havent got a clue about & most of the time are wrong

Oh FFS do we have to do this every week?
When i drove a scoob, it was the best car on the planet and i would defend it to the hilt. I now have an Evo and it's the best car on the planet. Who knows what will be the best car next, maybe an AWD RS Focus?
Get a grip guys, there aren't many people going to admit the Evo is the better car but they could n't afford one, or the Scoob is a better car but they needed more leg room in the rear.

I dont find the MR340 any better or easier to drive or less understeery than my WR1.
I have had the geom checked and have stiffer bars on etc

The out the box litchfeild MY05 Spec C RA, WR1 and a FQ340 would and a very close battle but totally uninterested in Mags/TV show results. I would be concern how they suited my driving requirements and running costs.
I have limited experience driving Mitzy's but always found them easier to drive faster The Subaru gives more warning when getting near the limit, the Mitzy just keep saying go faster I need plenty of warning/leeway.
Mitzy has always been the far more capable car but now not much in it now and probablly better to spend £10K on a Mitzzy than a Scoob IMHO
but I prefer a Scoob

yeah i agree with you but i think nowerdays the scoobs coming out of japan are more than a match for the latest offerings from mitsy.(except mr400) how ever we have the type 25.... £ for£ i think we have the upper hand!!
how are you anyway?

I like both Scoobys and Evos but the reason I bought another Scooby over an Evo, was that Evos just arent built as good and the interiors are worse (apart from the Recaros). Although Scoobys are more common though. Unless you have a Type-R like mine!
I would have both if I could afford it though!
