The T25 is a very quick Family Car at the price and wouldn't at all be ashamed being in the same company of either Mitzy
IIRC IMHO

Makes some very interesting reading.
Scooby did well Boxster did better and it was only the standard one.
Hopefully the Boxster S will be even better , will let you know when mine arrives in the new year.

Not read all of this cos I cant be bothered with all this EVO v's Subaru crap.
My only contibution is how fast would a subaru be if they reduced the service time to the frankly rediculous 4,500 of the evo's
I like both and nearly got an EVO but the sales people were frankly rubbish and pi55ed off for a joy ride in there demo car while i was waiting for a test drive so I got a P1 instead.

The 4500 services have nothing to do with the engine, its the AYC Fluid change for the rear diff

They're both great motors but I prefer the scoobs, so got one. I love it and really couldn't give a to55 if someone thinks their Evo is better than my scoob.

I thought they have now changed the AYC intervals inline with the 7.5k service intervals?

Soon as a Scooby vs EVO thread starts, everyone has something to say!
I think both cars are great and on the road both cars are respected by each other. I've just changed by 01 wrx for an 03 STI PPP but went to look at the EVO's first. The only thing that turned me away from having an EVO was the lack of dealers and the cost of purchase. EVO's hold their price better than Scoobys FACT. BUT you can now get a 2nd hand scooby in excellent condition for less while performance is similar to EVO.

see what happens when u mention subaru and evo in the same thread!! I heard the new my05 sti goes round mini roundabouts at 6k rpm in 2nd and is stuck to the road...
like for like really, if i had the money, i would have 1 of each, but i dont, so i have an evo just slightly better at most things, but it depends what you want it for
if you want a nice interior, buy a bmw
if you want a road going track car that can be modified, that everyone looks at cos of its rareity, that accelerates pretty much as fast as most supercars on the road, that outhandles pretty much anything and has 4 doors for family if need be, you buy an evo.
on the other hand
you could try to keep up with the above on the cheap and buy a subaru.
most consistent comment in evo vs scoob threads
" I heard subaru are bringing out "xxxxxxx" this will defo beat the evo" yawn

There's so little difference that unless you are talking about top class drivers on a track, it's all down to the driver as to which beats which on the road.
On the subject of Evos, do they have such a thing as the 'Evo Wave'?
I have waved/nodded at a few Evos and they all seem like miserable *******. Maybe it's cause they're jealous??

In fact, I normally wave or Flash lights and get a nod from most EVO owners. Bar from the obvious keyboard ribbing that goes on most EVO owners are just Car Enthusiast and Freindly guys like us sorry to break the myth

surely car preference is subjective to the person who wants the car?
For me, nothing (except a 22b, GT40 or Dodge Viper) will ever make me want to get rid of my Type R. Same answer if money were no object! For ME - the Type R is a perfect car, for the father-in-law for example - his proton is a perfect car - yet i Think they are sh!te!
I should think things would be closer between a type R and an evo (evn if the Evo did go faster round a track).
I have driven an Evo, and although a fantastic car - to ME, I would have the Type R any day of the week!

From: Lancaster/Manchester or stuck in a traffic jam somewhere in between
Well, my two penneth:-
After driving my mates FQ300 on Saturday (and making him turn white in the process!! ), I really did consider cancelling my Type R that I should be picking up next Wednesday and going to see our local Mitsi dealer. I really enjoyed it and found it very easy to drive and after 10 mins or so on some really twisty, bumpy back roads out in the sticks (up to 60mph ) I felt very comfortable (ish ) driving it. It felt easier to drive than the Type R did on my test drive (back end got pretty out of shape at one point). However, sense prevailed cos I only thought about it for a minute or so, the interiors are bloomin horrible and I dont think they have the same character as a scoob. Funnily enough, we passed a Discovery with a Tommy Makkinen Evo 6 on a trailer... he waved (Evo wave??)
To sum up, the Evo is good but scoobies rule
