It's only because I had to actually stop for the traffic at the GIVE WAY sign rather than driving straight through reading it as 'If you are a WYIOC member - Please ignore this sign'.. Plus when you'd disappered down the road... there was another give way, slighly bent toward our road from a side road..... so I **** myself at speed and practically stopped... precious seconds were lost and you two had vanished...
Plus.... that lad on the moped was a tad surprised when I drifted round the roundabout... I saw the whites of his dinner plate eyes as his right wrist jammed the throttle open to get out of my way... bless... few minutes later when he'd accelerated past I caught you up a few mins later..

The supergluing of the Ronan (spit) CD sounds like a top idea whether Chris turns up or not. Can't we have it as a booby prize for slowest lap of the day?

Serious question !
Does anyone have a contact number for mick02wrx ? there's a guy on THIS THREAD who may want to buy his 2 remaining OZ alloys following THAT incident.

Online Calendar
Just testing the usefulness of an online central calendar....
I know we have SNET for postings and Phil has an excellent generic site... But I miss a simple calendar letting us know when things are happening... The following is free, simple and easily maintained...
Honeset opinions.. something of use or a waste of time?
Main idea was to ensure that everyone is aware of what's coming up.. Please post even the smaller impromptu club meets to ensure everyone has the chance of attending....
http://my.calendars.net/wyioc/
Edited to say: Selecting 'Year' - 'Condensed' is a good way to check out what's coming up..
I've password protected event Editing & Entry - PM me for the password

PS. Is it just me, or does the bint* on the right look like she's just been chewing a greasy kipper...??
*Editor's Note:- This is NOT intended as a sexist comment for any trolls that might be viewing this post. It is merely my Sunday morning** attempt at injecting some humour into our otherwise factual but slightly mundane threads....
** Artistic licence, as I appreciate that we are technically already post meridiam, but I've only just had mi breakfast.....

As mentioned before ,I can put a dedicated area for WYIOC on my site, and it does also have a very easy to use calendar.
If you want a WYIOC area on my site, just let me know as I've already set one up but its hidden from view at the moment as I wasnt sure if you wanted to use it
cheers

Something has to be agreed about where the "club" is going next, Al I think this is your area mate.
Apparantly my phone number is in the Scooby magazine (which I didnt give permission for) and I'm now getting people phoneing me offering club discounts and also asking how to join etc (which is good)
A decision as to where the club is going next really needs to be made, ie .. subscriptions , website etc
can someone please make a decision as to what we should do
as mentioned above, I dont mind setting up a dedicated part on my site for the WYIOC (if thats what it'll still be called) allowing areas for anyone to post & places for paid up members, but a decision needs making
cheers

Phil. I couldn't agree more.
We've settled into a nice relaxed state with a good core membership who are quickly becoming a set of good friends; which means we are at risk of stagnating. We've had a few stabs at name changes and a few posts have been started to discuss this and other club directions, but it also seems that the appetite for pushing this through is simply not there. People are comfortable with the current shape & direction, as indicated by my thread on the subject not generating any real enthusiasm...
But as I said, I agree that the club is reaching that point where something does indeed need to be done. My idea for the yearbook came about as I was thinking about where it was all heading. I'd like the yearbook to show what the club was about for the past few years before looking at evolving into some different and better....
- First thing is to change the name..
- Repay yearly subs.. and generate some decent club cards, stickers, banners etc and collate the discounts....
- Second is to get another dedicated club website back up. A proper front end.... No forums or fancy stuff. I believe that the forums are catered for here, and regardless of how well a job you've done, I don't think the club can or will migrate from here with any purpose... Maddy's forum, your last forum and the current www.uk-performance.net seem testament to that.. We need a proper (Read - Dreamweaver / HTML) site set up with proper bandwidth and no non related adverts.. Nothing fancy ..a simple front, designed by ourselves uploaded to our own domain name explaining what and who we are.. If we have to pay an annual cost to get it then so be it.. the funds can cover that..
