Correct there Ring, Matey!!
The Nur spec is the quitest of the two
The spec R is a smaller box and also louder, makes sense since the box is smaller!!

Yes the neighbours really do love me when i leave for work at 6am
The inspiration behind going for a side exit was Walter Rohrl's Audi and the reason i done was the wieght savings compared to the full system

where to buy either a 5Zigen Fireball or a BPM Twister backbox
@rse, this thread has got me wanting a louder backbox, ohh the joys of scoobynet.
Does anybody know where i can get either one of these backbox's from.
I've tried RC Developments for a 5Zigen but they haven't got any stock and have quoted at least 3 weeks.
Prosport are phoning me back in the morning about the BPM box.
I've got a scoobymania box in the garage, i was wondering if it was probably worth opening that up and welding a straight through pipe in.
I'm not too bothered about the neighbours.

Grant,
Having it run side exit I always thought it would give a decent weight saving and in your case it would effectively be the weight of the backbox I would imagine.
I remember years ago someone on here had a black scoob and the centre section peeled off to produce two side pipes either side of the car under the rear doors. He commented that it was loud

It sounds bassy with the gruppeS headers, but nowhere near NurSPec/R or 'pat spec' imo.
Would have preferred it with the standard hiper centre perhaps.. ah well..
(but - its nice and aggressive under full chat

just had a bespoke handmade rally Group A 3" system fitted today - just a burble on tickover but at speed it sounds amazing a very aggresive raspy note, and the workmanship is top notch.

Only differences being those I stated earlier (ie flange size & Nur Spec being backbox only).

Me & Jamie had both our cars sat side by side & we noticed the difference between the "R" which is smaller in size & the Normal Nur Spec
I have seen it with my own eyes mate

the r is 3 inch flange as the r is the system . .
so.youre saying the bb from the system is smaller than just the backbox purchased seperately ?
i had just the bb then changed it for the system, therefore had to renew bb as well.
TBH i didnt notice a difference in bb,cept for the half inch bigger flange.
