lol - got me there, i cant quote wheels figure cause i don't know it....

APPROX 360, that better

Mine also with 360 approx does 0-100 in 8.9 LOL.....

I can't remember chris, but doubt it would have made that much diff in power, few bhp maybe

interesting though 360bhp and 1270kgs gives 3.7 to 60 and just over 9 to a ton.

The more figure I put into the letstorquebhp the closer it seems to real world figures

Dont know how much your escort weighes but put in 1100kgs, 360bhp and rwd you get 8.83seconds to a ton

its about 1050
But had all timing gear in and tools so 1100 is about right....

Not bad really then for a track setup

plus you always need to add more in a scoob mine is 1050 ish with fluids....that weight u are entering for the scoob will be dry kerb wait. so u can add atleast 100kilo's to it

Plus 80-120 for a driver.....

I still can't see how this system knows your speed..!

If it's through GPS then it isn't accurate unless your doing a steady speed for several seconds for it to settle/average.

With regards to letstorque web page figures, these cannot be completely accurate either, imagine this:

If you put in the figure for the same car, only one is a diesel, the performance would be show as the same, when we all know this isn't true in the real world..!

Then there's the gearing, aerodynamics.....

Phil, is the turbo unit standard or has it been modified to a larger unit?

The original turbo is too small to flow enough air for 295bhp

Isn't the capacity for the turbo unit 275-280bhp?

Take your car to a rolling road station for power at wheels figures for comparison sakes to the AP22.

Basic physics. If a car starts at rest and accelerates for a set time, then all the unit has to do it measure that acceleration, which it does (g force) and it can work out the speed at any given time.

my 0-60' times are 2.162 330'...6.010 and an et 1/4 of 14.336 @95.3mph at the pod, in a standard + decat center and back box uk car, would be interesting to see the difference you'll get with the sort of timing gear they use there,against what you are using ... not a critisism, just wondering out of interest, good times btw

I've checked an AP22 against the timing gear at the pod and it was within a few %.With tinkering it's possible to get it even closer.

Surly there are too many variables..?

ie. time, speed and distance..!

I still can't see how it can work out these figures without accurate speed readings..!

As you state above 'If a car starts at rest and accelerates for a set time...' what set time, I thought that's what your trying to find out not already know..?

As for basic physics, lol, chaos theory more likely..!

I have an MY95 UK Saloon. The phase 1 UK cars had TD05 turbos and are good for over 320BHP (please correct me if I am wrong).

Also, these AP22's put incremental info on the display and when I pass 100 on my speedo, the AP22 puts up the 0-100 time pretty much instantly. I have no doubt that it is accurate to the manufacturers specs.

Hi Chrisp, my car with myself sat in it and 1/2 tank of fuel weighs 1255KG (measured at a weighbridge where my father works). Assuming your earlier figures of 276BHP @ FW, letstorquebhp gives 13.26@104.31. I just managed a 13.59@105.6 so they are not worlds apart. I am not particularly bothered how much power I have, just the performance the car gives.

I had a 2.0 16V Nova that managed a 13.9sec qtr @ 103 at York. Letstorquebhp estimates a 13.66@102.4, so again is pretty accurate. It only had 180BHP and weighed 850KG with myself and 1/2 tank of fuel.

The unit is measuring acceleration and time.
Equations in O level (or whatever they are now) phsics can be used to work out distance and speed from that.

V=U+at
S=ut+.5at^2 (half at squared)
V^2=U^2+2as (Vsquared and Usquared)
V=final velocity, U=initial velocity S= Distance, a =acceleration, t=time (both of which the unit measures)

The unit works out after a certain time that it has covered the 1/4mile for exampple and tells you that.
