Gutted for you

Due to a similar incident i always carry a disposable camera ...really puts the aggressor on the back foot when they see a camera flash & know that they & their motor can be identified ...also useful when/if you have a prang ...& i dont think car jackers like their piccy taken either!

DazW,

Good idea, although if someone started taking pics of me without asking they may find me ripping it out their cold dead hands

Soulgirl,

Sorry to hear about your troubles. A couple of new doors (cheaper than getting them re-skinned) will have your car back in shape.

I'm not shocked at what happened one bit. It's getting far more common. My Mum's had similar abuse even when someone bumped into the back of her car. Another woman started hurling abuse at her, whilst on the phone to her husband/boyfriend. My Mum simply phoned the Police, telling the physco woman what was going on and she was quick to back down.

What did shock me with her incident was the fact that not one single person in the street stopped to ask if anyone was OK or to try and calm the situation down. Sounds like you had the same thing happen to you.

Maybe it's me, but if I saw two people arguing with someone on their own, I'd go over and ask if everyone was OK and would they like me to call the police.

Its sometimes just better swallowing your pride and ignoring people.

Sorry to see your damage soulgirl, not nice

I had a similar confrontation once and my exact thoughts were they look like they will vandalise my car when I leave it so i got back in and drove off and went back later on when the scum had gone, its the best way these days as there are so many "traveller" types out there with no regard for the law and no fear of being caught.

The statistics on crime are relected by that murder in chelsea monday night, one politician quoted thats its easier to get away with a crime now than its ever been

very sad

That is disgraceful - and just down the road from us too!!

I run Sterte Garage in Poole, there are too many cackers around here that would do that kind of think unfortunately.

If you like I know a fantastic bodyshop that will put your car right quickly and cheaply without all of the horrors that come with using an Insurance approved bodyshop like one of the main dealers......

Send me an email and I will give you the number if you are interested.

No, not yet. Had the police round this morning to take photos etc and I have arranged a couple of quotes. Just have to wait for things to take their course now.

Unhappy

I hate these sort of people, i feel really angry now

I have a ****y Ford escort i use more than my Scoob becuse these sort of events take all the fun out of having a nice car.

I also know a really really good body shop, i use the guy on my scoob, he is ex Rolls Royce and does it as a side line to stop himself getting bored, i defy anyone to tell his repairs, that include a dent in the roof thanks to some drunked tw*t and a bottle, a dent in the door, careless other half on the drive and a left rear wheel arch which was going rusty.

Looking at your pics he will be able to fix the parts you already have
please PM if you want any help

Because the company the lorry driver was working for went bust (prob why he took it out on my car) and they had lost the driver records...so the police could not (or could not be bothered) to prosecute the driver.... thus he got off scott free... W4nker

This kind of stuff makes my blood boil! All it would have taken from the other driver was a simple apology for what might have been a simple moments lack of concentration.

If the police won't prosecute (and they bloody well should if the evidence is there), take out a civil action for tresspass to property and sue the *******! If there is any CCTV footage make sure you've told the owners of the car park that you want it retained from a pending criminal/civil case, they must comply.

All the best getting your car sorted and hope it's not you who has to foot the bill.

They had a baby seat in the back you say? Nice example to the kids!

Best wishes

The point was we only have one side of the argument/ incedent.

obvioulsy you are going to present your side of things which at the moment

present you as the innocent party.

are you??? you went to remonstrate with the other person...

I would lay money on it that there version of events are different.

granted your car has been damaged, thats a no no in anyone,s book,

however my comments still stand... assumptions have been made based on incomplete data

But she didn't come across as nasty or Irate at all. I think soulgirl made a decent thread without ranting and raving like pretty much anyone else would of done.

I am the innocent party in as much as I didn't cause any criminal damage. As far as I was concerned, it was a heated exchange of words... I shouted at the woman for cutting me up like most other people would have done. It wasn't even a silly cut up - it was full on across two carriageways!

In fact, my original post was quite open about the course of events as they happened
I parked a few bays down and got out my car to advise her of my dissatisfaction with her driving technique. She just sat in the car and then from a car in front of hers a bloke arrived and started giving it some... she then found her strength and also got out of her car calling me naughty names etc. and egging me on for a fight. I thought hang on, big bloke, little me. I replied with a few choice words and stomped into B&Q for a new loo roll holder.

jeez climb down off the soapboxes people....

lets play devils advocate here,,

lets say the other party posts,,

her version of events are..

whilst indicating and pulling accross a dual carrageway, a scooby came screaming up toward me , horn blaring and nearly caused me to have an accident,

I was then followed into the b&q car park, where said driver of the scooby a woman came barreling up to me hurling abuse and making threats towards me regarding my driving and what she was going to do to me.

A gentleman came over to see what the concern was, and he can corroborate the vile accusations and threats this woman made.

to make things worse, as she stormed off she violently banged my door, which now has a large dent in it and hit my wing mirror which is now broken.

I was so distraught, i got into my car and left,

the incedant has been reported to the police...

Now can you see where i am coming from????

if this post had been made first who,s version of events would you believe????

as i said assumptions have been made based on one side of the arguement..

soulgirl, I have no reason to turn this into slanging match.

i agree the damage to your car is ott,

i cannot dispute what you purport to have said or done,

have the police rushed round, arrested, tried and convicted the other party

based purely on your evidence??

there are always two sides to an incident (scuse the pun)

based on your i am pure and innocent persona, i think its sad you have to

direct me to a tastless web site, because someone dosent follow your

expected sympathy

i seem to remember you made quite a stir!! following your visit to the

scoobyday... I end there !!!

Just read this, this is awful.

I hope the car gets sorted one way or another and if you do end up paying, I hope it is cheap.

If you get no joy with the cctv etc and the police for criminal damage it may be worth checking with any friendly plods you know to see if you reported his and her threatening behaviour, if that would make the police take more notice?

I am glad that you were not hurt in the process of the car bashing.

It is a shame though that the car didnt spontaniously combust as they were bashing it.

All the best

LOL - I have never given across a pure and innocent persona - and I certainly did not post this for any other reason than to let people know it's not always a good idea to have a go at someone who is in the wrong.

Are you suggesting that we should wait until the court case is over before warning others? You crazy fool

Yes, I did make a stir about the visit to alton coz I thought it was crap... wanna drag that up again?

And yes, the police did rush round - so stick that up your exhuast pipe!

Lastly, it was not a tasteless website - it was humour... something you obviously lack....
