As an aside has anyone heard or know where to obtain the bootleg Radio 1 were playing of BOBD? It was the version with a little Oasis/Aerosmith mixed through.

I have to say I'm not completely convinced by the last couple of offerings. I loved pretty much everything from 1039 smoothed out slappy hours, kerplunk, nimrod, dookie, etc but I just think the latest stuff lacks energy

You tell me GC8 - I was photographing bands for all 3 magazines back in the late 70's and early 80's. Melody Maker paid best (especially for my pics of Siouxie and the Banshees in the Ulster Hall and the non-made up pics of Ms Sioux) and Sounds was the magazine I liked reading the most - maybe because I had more pics published there than anywhere else as they seemed to be the most into the Northern Ireland scene...NME was...well, NME.

I'm just waiting for the mandolin solo on the next album, and the obligatory purchase of some nice comfy slippers to go with it.

Green Day, although undoubtedly good, sound like an amalgam of a lot of other bands, past and present. Punk? LOL, don't make me laugh!
