exactly, it should spool up a bit quicker i think.....could it be because the basemap used was from a TD04? (as most common maps would be?)

My feeling was that it was quite like a VF35 in terms of spool up and power, but I didn't collect oodles of data.
If the duty cycle was dropped early like a TD04 map would it could limit the spool up a little bit.

Midlife, it is an estimate of efficiency - I just edited the original figures to show the BHP per 2 normally aspirated litres. Helps you compare different boost levels on the same engines.... you are comparing mainly the turbo, the mapping (taking into account safety and octane of course), the breathing (eg headers particularly), intercooling etc assuming everything is working properly.
To calculate it, divide the power by the absolute manifold pressure (1+boost in bar).
So 295 BHP at 1.2 bar (2.2 bar absolute)....
295/2.2 = 134 BHP
A standard catted P1 for example is about the same on UK fuel. Slightly smaller turbo, but good cams, running in the efficiency range of the turbo, but with standard breathing.

PS Another happy customer of your advice from circa 18 mths ago just as you retired from mapping. Your Bugeye menu....TD05, Injectors, pump, reg, ported headers, STi8 TMIC, plugs, hoses and EcuTeK map
