Is it possible to cut the turbo end including the kink off the Samco and use a straight piece of metal pipe with a samco elbow at the other end? Or does the collapsing happen at the kink? I've been thinking about doing this for a while to try and improve my inlet by opening up the bend at the power steering reservoir.

Could work, not sure if it collapses in the middle as well or just on the elbow, but on mine the elbow is definently the weakest part.

A long time ago I had problems with the Samco Hose as fitted on ver 5 & 6 cars, under the inlet manifold. I placed three jubilee clips at the weakest points, contoured them to the hose shape and superglued them. Great idea I thought but next morning when I came to put the hose in position, two jubilees came off straight away. It is a very tight space to get into at the best of times and that is probably why the Samco is so flexible and pliable.
Part of the problem is that most superglues do not stick to silicone. I guess there must be some special stuff??? Anybody???
Anyway, Samco gave me a couple of radiator hoses and a full refund for my trouble and Jap Innovations supplied a similar but more robust inlet tract that I was very pleased with. I think it had come from Australia.

Great minds think alike and....
