imi. No-one above said french people were all white. However, see here, clicky. Look at definition 2 of the word "race", for example. Either get a grip of the English language, or go back to sleep!

what exactly did Kilroy say? Would be interesting whether it was also stereotypical generalisations?

BTW: Muslims are not a race either.

My point is, why do people need to offend others in order to get cheap laughs OR attention?

And it seems like you believe that caucasians are not being given the same rights as ethnic minorities?

And how was that point made in your "wake up" post?

I'll let J4cko defend himself, but IMHO he doesn't say that. What I said is that to be truly non-racist, any crime/insult/whatever is equally serious whatever the ethnic background of the perpetrator or the victim, and that no discrimination can be considered "positive". IMHO inidividuals should be treated entirely on merit, and ethnic background, city of origin, home nation or whatever are equally irrelevant.

Anyway, wasn't this post about top gear and perhaps James May? IMHO, quite amusing.

This reads as French are predominantly white and hence discrimination targeted towards the french seem to be acceptable. If they were black, muslims, etc then it would be labelled as racist.

That is the way I read the post, if it wasnt supposed to read like that then fair enough,

Hades - I agree with the last couple of lines of yours

Back to Mr James Kay...what about the outburst he had a few weeks ago against Americans?

Talking

Sack him? On the strength of that comment, they should give him a new contract

(Remembering that my senior manager is French and I work for a French owned company - doh!)

I doubt there would be talk of sackings if it had been Clarkson that had said it - the comment he made got the biggest laugh of the programme, more than the Ferrari clad gent who actually drove a VW Jetta!

If the French have their way he'll end up in "Le Bastille"

The last couple of Top Gear's have been great to watch, IMHO it's getting better just in time for the series ending soon

It's just friendly rivalry, we slag off the Ozzies, Kiwis, French, etc.... and it's intended as a bit of fun, when two countries peoples can take the pi$$ out of each other they obviously have a good relationship, if you see what I'm getting at.
