keep quite and just read the posts
Got a fiat as well mind you it is a white van so a bet i'll get a slating for that too.

Shame about some people on scoobynet, seems that some people only like to boast and slag other people off, mind you, most of these people haven't got anything else better to do. No school this time of the year!!!!!!!

Happy new year!

The issue is not that Tiggers neighbour is a BMW driver its is that he is smarmy, stuck up and arrogant... I would have written the same response if he was driving a Merc, VW etc. It was not the car he drives rather it was he's attitude.

TIGGERS WROTE:
"...he is always telling me how he would never have a Scoob as he only likes quality car"

TBH I like BMW's I wouldn't mind one myself but I would always feel more secure in a 4WD car especially during winter.

Aaquil,

Do you live on my road as that description is spot on?

Don't worry about the BMW defenders- they're in denial

I find that if I get a tailgater, particularly in slippery conditions, it is easy to just slow down gently to a fairly slow speed, that is at least a safer way than brake testing him. They usually get pretty irritated but eventually get the idea and either drop back or eventually overtake. When they do that I give them a friendly wave which always seems to make them jump up and down a bit!

This general attitude towards BMW drivers seems rather inaccurate and even childish to me. I don't find the average Beemer driver to be any worse or better than anyone else. Its looks more to me like a case of "green eyes" for what are very well built cars. That certainly cannot be denied.

Les,

Don't give the day job for psychoanalysis will you? It's just I think you'll find it hard to make a living

Tiggers

No I'd don't live on your road but your excellent quote summed the sad case up.

Leslie

I tend to do that as well... I 'drive to rule' 30MPH speed limit I go at 29. If on the Motorway I just empty my screenwash onto my windscreen and his (or hers) until they get the message and BACK OFF.

That's a good one that is

I did it to someone most of the way from Cardiff to Swindon on the M4 without her getting the message.

Maybe the average BMW driver down your way is very different to other areas. Round here the majority (note: but not all, obviously) tend to be utter w@nkers.

Hmmm, deffo not guilty of green eyes here. Where i work (looks around nervously) the typical BMW owner has a de-badged 316 or 318, so people think it's a 330 or an M3.

Usually accompanied by a brand new 5 bedroom Barratt home that they have a 100% mortgage on and can barely afford, a fake Rolex for impressing their dinner guests, and some nice top of the range Ping golf clubs (on HP) for posing at the local council owned course.

Sorry, but from experience my viewpoint is a little skewed/biased.

Dont worry Tiggers, not interested in or even "psycho" enough myself to take that up, but what I said about the friendly wave does seem to get them worked up though.

I have to come clean Iwan and tell you that I swapped my classic STi for an M3 Evo before there was any chance of No 3 big end letting go, got a bit of a twitch about that when a few people posted about the and I was not the first owner of the car.

I like the beemer very much and it is as much fun to drive as the Scoob was. I do own it completely and the house is paid for.

Well like i said mate i'm sure not _all_ BMW drivers are the same. I looked at M3's as a replacement to my P1 but couldn't personally justify the costs of ownership, lovely cars though. Plus round here i'd have to cope with the associated stigma of BMW ownership too.

So i bought a Skoda instead

See, no badge snobbery here
