Well dont wear it then , not to sound like im biting but the scooby/chav debate is extremely boring and irrelevant to the dicussion. Just because a few little ******* have saved up their pocket money to buy a banged up old scooby to fly around in doesnt mean that the rest of us highly refined individuals have to be compared to them. Bottom line is loads of cash to turbo a CTR (got to lower compression and a ton of other stuff), thats why i came from the ITR to a scooby , lots of easy power for not a lot of money. Compare 16 grand for a CTR to 18500 for a scooby , spend 4 grand on a turbo conversion for the ctr and you are up to 20 grand , spend 1500 on the scoob and it would whup the CTR big time.

You *have* to wear a baseball hat to drive a CTR, its the new Saxo
On a serious note, I cringe when anyone brings up the topic of "this versus that"
These threads follow a very similar formula of question, then argument, statement of fact and formula etc, tales of I whipped him driving a roller skate, then degenerates into an abusive slagging match!
If you want to know, find two people who have the car and go play with them

No, there would still be people who wouldn't have it. You'd get "But it was a cold day and that's not fair cos its more of a gain on a forced induced motor" and "well I was on a slightly harder compound and it was hot so i lost some time here and there" and "my clutch was slipping"

Are we talking fast or FAAAST. Neither the scoob ITR or CTR are FAAAST merely quite rapid, if we're talking real speed then the ride I had in a friends 700bhp skyline would have to be it , seriously mental but ugly as f**ck. oops getting off subject here, for sheer thrill you just cant beat a vtec but for extreme power with minimum fuss you cant beat a sccoob. Just think that i'd look daft in a CTR as I am big (obviously all muscle) and the CTR is small and dainty looking.

In my ITR I didn't need to go fast to enjoy it, I find in the subaru it tends to be the other way - go figure!! Luckily being a bristol ring road user means that fast is a relatively high 5mph in the morning 'rush hour'.
Kevin
P.S. Why do they call it the rush hour, when it is anything but??

If I was struggling to get out of low cars then DB9 would indeed be high on the list, until all my fillings fall out, I shall put up with fast and beautiful

But it must be someone you know to be up for it, ideally someone you know personally.
Just like a certain CTR driver proved to us all by arranging a run with a freind in an AMG E55 to prove he could beat him on the straight...........!
Now what was his name...?

Thanks for the video clips... Excellent quality! Is it my imagination or does the 2nd "standard" Scooby seem to pull away from the Honda faster than the first "modified" Scooby down the straight? Anyway these video's don't prove much for either party... I watched a video clip of a Scoob on track eating up everything in sight including Lotus 7's - Exige etc etc - and it was just down to a damned good driver 'cause the Scoob was standard... ANd we all know it doesn't stand a hope against those cars with equal drivers!
What I love about my Scoob is just ever so gently squeezing the throttle to overtake at anything above 3000rpm and feeling the rush as it blasts away. Go try that in a Honda.... :-)
