Would be competative in RWD but not a winner these days, surely you know what ****e we take in the Cossie scene if we dont win.
Reached the Final in a previous year & still got slated. Nah!! my decision to concentrate on raising the Topspeed record is the correct one.

i see what you mean. mind you, not being familiar with cosworth tuners, but dont any of them use totb for publicity purposes?
rc and norris use their evo's, crd run a supra, abbey use ronnies car, sumo have their r34 (or did until they sold it, now doin a 33). see what i mean. for an average guy on an average wage the thought of modding/spending on a car enough for challenging top honours at totb would be daunting, but i dont understand why cossie tuners dont do it. even if its just for good pr.

Id love to be able to offset my expenses for the past two totb events Ive competed in against my tuningcompany - Just not possible when your using your own car, and its a hobby..not a job..

Its hard to compete with the big boys that have in house dynos and plenty of parts / experience at their disposal...

They are doing it! Just not for top speed 'one off events' The cost doesn't warrant it.

Rod

ps. Some facts to help him know what he should achieve (MAD cars in PF)

Adrian did 185.5 with 520bhp
Dave did 178.5 with 465bhp
Mine did 183.3 with less than 500bhp

True tis all about aerodynamics at those speeds.
My car was faster 0-180 than the Macca but then hits a wall in the early 190's.
Huge ammounts of Power then needed to get over 200.
Will be back soon with approx 70 more Horses but dont expect to get past 205.
The Rocket did 205.8 with a 1000bhp & I doubt mine can beat that ever.

Typical MAD reply There isn't only Mark as a tuner out there, that is capable of getting more from a cossie Rod!

You should know that by now!

Those times were timed by PF & Adrians Feature should be in this months PF or possibly next months . Daves is in Last months with my 200mph run.
Bull**** aint my game as I expect you know only ever quote facts that can be backed up.
Ive had 3 Topspeed events at Brunters best times on the day were 181.8mph & 179.6 in 1.25miles , 183.3 & now 201.8 .

So 176.9 is close to 181.8 your having a Larf , so dont come Large with me till his car has done something.

Coming large? You are having a laugh aren't you! NOS wasn't even used! Get used to it Rod, MAD ain't the b all and end all - Karl has far more knowledge, whatever you believe or think.

Besides at least Andy drives his car himself! Not like you who only drives it to the local supermarket and back! When you have done it YOURSELF then you can crow as much as you like.... but until then STFU!

If you read the Topspreed Feature you will see who did one of the Topspeed runs my friend , ME. On my 59th Birthday. 198.5mph & Proud of it will be past 200 soon as id never done it before & braked mega early. Andy only has to improve by 21.9 mph to beat that.
Karl has already admitted his car wont attempt to do 200mph at Brunters, ring & ask him.
We use facts at MAD not talk & thats all Karl has ever done up to this point, any time he wants to do battle we are willing.
The other car with an engine like Karls was at the Latest Daddy Thrash it did 169.7 need I go on.
Supposedly mapped the previous day by Karl , only an amateur would allow a car to turn up like that. It lost its sunroof on the second run probably fortunate that.
Rod

ps. Can you issue a challenge to Andy HIM v ME at Brunters.
Will stop all the talk. im sure PF would do it.

NO
I MEAN ME.
If i want to set records with my car I will use Mark, cos hes 25 years younger & in his prime im well past it , at least thats what my wife says.

For a challenge like that its me im afraid.

Obviously being the second fastest Cossie driver all time aint cutting it with Redkop, must brush up on my maths I thought 198.5 was a tad faster than 176.9 but i could be wrong at my age.
Rod
ps. Good dodge of Challenge by the way , dont Track cars go in a straight line.
Mark can change a Diff in under 30mins if you want, i will pay for the swap.

Christ Rod, what you gotta do for people to face FACTS. I have followed Rod out on the road, and he ain't scared to give it some. Some of you guys ( and gals - ) should get to know Rod a bit, he's a decent bloke who is passionate about his car.

Amen to that Kev.

I've met Rod a few times, and he's a thoroughly nice fella who's got all day to talk about his car.

It just comes across sometimes that Rod and all the lads are shouting "we won, we won", and everyone else is sitting back going " er okay, well done", but not being sure what to applaud.

Kev, I do know Rod. Have met him a few times now.

We were also parked next to him at TOTB 1, unfortunately some of the things overheard, when he and Mark were talking have left me with rather a sour taste in my mouth.

Aren't we all passionate about our cars? Rod shouldn't dismiss other cars so lightly and get over his dislike for anything that is NMS related.
