The seats were a no cost optoin on ( i believe ) early bugeyes, they have side airbags so from a saftety point of view some people preferred them.
Personally I bought a bugeye with the airbag seats with the view to replace them ( not a problem as the trim is the same ) but after having the car a few months they have grown on me, obviously the bucket seats are more supportive and better looking but the airbag seats are vv comfortable, suportive and you never know what numptys around the corner ( those airbags may come in handy )
One more thing if the seats are replaced a tiny mod is required to disable the airbag light on the dash ( resistor I believe )
Hope taht helps

The first 4 door WRX's into the country came with Sports seats - no choice - much to the dissapointment of many on here. Luckily for me the wagon's came with buckets from the get go.

Those early sports seats you are talking about are in my Sport !! very comfy indeed but you do move around a little under a more spirited drive. Easy enough to source some Sti ones so I would not let that worry you. I was offered a set at one point but decided to keep the wallet closed lol

So what you saying classic or bugeye?
