Kevin, have you bought Desire or Northern?
I bought a few hundred quid in desire at 11p and was going to sell at 70p. They seem to be sat at around 50p and depending on the news of a partner to drill, they'll either plumett or reach £1.50 ish, then go up again once producing. What's your thoughts?
Guy I work with has read a lot of glowing reports on Nothern, and I think the cheeky buggers are tapping into the end of our reservoir! Fair play if it makes me money
Might stick a few hundred in. More fun than BP shares

cancelled the F430, now heading towards a Carrera GT might all turn out to be a Rover 25, but what a blast. Just keep watching, when drilling results start appearing soon might then be heading towards a koenisegggggggg

Hi Mark, already owned shares in both but wasn't impressed with the poor growth and went after something more lively. Looking to get back into one of the minnows later this week - doing some research. Liked the look of the DES chart last week but missed out on todays rise as I'm waiting for a cheque to clear. Keeping an eye on the Isle of Wight developments - it's NOP,BLR and Hereward that have the interest there. NOP are probably the safest bet there, BLR are a bit of an unknown as they keep getting involved in dry holes Feeling at the mo is a 50/50 investment between DES and NOP.
And yup it's a bit more exciting than bp. shares

Old shares...
Whilst on this subject, I brought some penny shares about 6 years ago using barclays online trading for MV Sports, I have looked for the share certificate and seem to have misplaced it in my last house move, is there anyway I can get a copy??
Thanks
Thanks

Jamie, the open offer didn't seem very good to me. Obviously they are trying to raise funds to drill, which is possibly a good sign, or they could be lying
Im hanging on for a bit, but if they hit 70p again im out.

watching with interest!
haven't bought anything myself yet, but our share club (over the past 5 years) is doing/has done pretty well off the back of tullow, shell, telford homes, nhp, cookson and various others. we knew nothing about the whole process when we started up, but now we know the basics, i'm considering doing my own thing at the same time.

Northern were a good prediction though

Hi Mark, I sold out of Northern at about £1.25 before the big rise - bought in at 80p so still made a profit. Big into DGT (again) good time to buy, still under 1.0p and tipped as good value at anything up to 1.6p. One of the guys on the ADVFN bulletin board has accumulated 18.6 million shares in the company and got his own press release as it's over 3% of the company
p.s. this is my GTR fund
p.p.s. BP shares are doing ok

Hi Kevin, missed your post!
Northern are hovering at the moment so not selling, but desire have sprung up quite a bit! Rumours of them buying drill pipe / well heads, and a take over. Not sure I believe it ;D
Yeah BP is doing alright!

I bought a few in PNN when they were 5.30
A few guys at work have left to be day traders, I remember when they were there two companies they went on about were Desire and Superscape, think the boats gone for Superscape (SPS) though.
EVS was a good short term one as well, went up quite a bit at one point, it's rat **** now tho.

Bought some shares in GFM today, looks like a good bet, no debt, making a profit, only Western mining company in China. Stocks that look good right now.
GFM- Griffin Mining
TSCO - Tesco
DNX - Dana Petroleum
Lets here your recommendations people
