Tony, you're just a bl00dy lout!!!
I've seen you driving like the rally racing driver down by the college (no doubt trying to disrupt hard-working staff lecturing at the time )
I've also heard about your legendary nights out in Hereford
I say "Lock you up and chuck away the key!!!"
Tough break with the local Head-Scratchers though
Happy New Year mate, and I'll see ya soon

Defo letter of complaint...probably jealous that you have a nice car. Doing 60mph over road humps with daughter in the back yeah right? Just some sad coppers. Not all coppers are sad...just the odd few.

Unfortunately these days there are more 'bad' coppers than not, especially in traffic..!
I know a lot of people 'in the job', most of them >10 years, and they all wan't out as it's now full of little hitlers who, by their toss-pot actions, make the few good ones job impossible..!
With regards to phoning when you've been burgled, you are kidding. Unless you've been shot they'll just give you a crime number..!!!!! (or if you've given the ****** who broke in a lesson in community spirit, then you'll get SWAT turning up and throwing the book at you..!)

It's a cack road too - far too many speed bumps to get any turn of speed up
I have two friends who work in Hereford, both male and female. You didn't happen to get any numbers or names did you?

When you file the report why not mention that he was lucky you were driving the Scoob, otherwise you may not have been able to brake/swerve in time to avoid getting the shovel out of the boot.

A few years ago, Me and my 20yr Son in my Old Subaru, can across a parked car on the road with a Pedestrian at the back, I thought was broken down. As I tried to pass, he thumped the Car and dented the rear wing I stopped he then kicked in a door with Steel Toecap boots , £1.2K damage he had also done the same to the parked car
I reported him to police who said "It's OK your insured, claim on that" WTF I gave a written statement and asked for further action. They asked for his Name, DOB and address!! The next day I then waited for him Challanged him about his Name, DOB and address. while I on the Mobile to Police He took his Jacket off and said "&%***$$%^&& you ***&&^^*&*(( and *$%%£****$$£ Kill you" I gave him my Phone, he chatted to Police, ten minutes later was arrested at his works
So guess what happened
After 10-15 phone Calls to the Police, my 20yr old Son was never interviewed or Statement taken. The main retort given was "Your insured claim on that" WTF and the bloke was never Charged
So I wonder, if I Kicked the Cr4p into the snotty Copper Panda Car. He would have said "That's alright as it's Insured " I think not

most are ok its the odd one or two with a real attitude, i had one from west yorkshire (wont mention his name) but he was a right tw@, pulled me over, me and my mate decided to get out he shoved my mate back on car and proceeded to lecture about if it was up to him he would rip up our licences, and how cruisers were scum of the earth (this was a few years ago now) he also claimed he was going to do me for no insurance by ringing my insurance company and telling them i was racing on the highway so to invalidate my insurance,( i didnt let on i worked for insurance co lol) when he rang me to tell me there were no charges at all he said he wouldnt be telling my insurance, i just laughed and told him it might be something to do with the fact that i was innocent.

I wish.
Tailgating is a national hobby here (something to do with getting into a car's slipstream and saving petrol, I believe ).
BTW - the thought occurred to me that most cellphones now feature voice recording. Anybody thought about activating the feature when having these disputed disussions with the boys in blue?

Seen so many of these now, police hating threads. I just can't believe we're all wrong, you know? There HAS to be a problem.
I have zero respect for them at the mo, I reckon they are just bully boys, enforcers and tax gatherers for HMG
And as for ringing them for any help, yeah, OK if alls you want is a crime number, go ahead. Otherwise, sort it yourself!

As for the chap that started this thread, defo make a complaint mate....there are the odd few out there who give the police a bad name from the inside....i guarantee their force policy says to use there flourescents at any time of day when stopping traffic.

I probably wouldn't if it wasn't for the fact I'd need the Police report number for the Insurance. When my nan got burgled we rang straight away, no-one turned up for 3 days. We were promised forensics would be there in a couple of hours, 3 years later we're still waiting.
I understand what you're saying, and I honestly believe that a few bad eggs ruin every police officers reputation, the same with scooby drivers. But it's the over zealous policing of traffic offences and the lack of attention on everyday crimes that alienates the public, and creates the hate towards the police force.

Some officers have chips on their shoulders and don't like to be outdone -- "A Subaru obeying the speed limits... surely not... can't have that..."
Your alternative is to visit your local Police station and make a formal complaint. Don't worry about not having badge numbers -- the incident, car registration, and your address will have been called in so there'll be a record on file and all the officers in question will be tagged to it. To make a formal complaint though will be just that, i.e. it's not possible for the offending officers to receive a slapped wrist and a few harsh words if they're found to be in the wrong. It will all be made official and the incident will go on their file.
As things stand, they won't get you next time simply because they won't be targetting you. Sure, they may get you but simply because law breakers have to be lucky all the time -- the Police only have to be lucky once. If you make a formal complaint then it's possible they then may target you, for obvious reasons.
I'd say be proud of your actions that night and the way you could be professional when others were clearly not. You've already got your moral victory so it's 1 - 0 to you.
Regards,
Jonty.
