Does Anybody Else Get This...

I have no problems with anyone overtaking me, regardless of how powerful their car may be.I don't have anything to prove and I don't interpret anyone getting past me as an act of aggression. If they are in a rush to get somewhere and need to travel faster than me that's fair enough. I'd only complain if they'd compromised my safety or that of other road users.
What I object to are idiots who drive dangerously just to provoke you or try and induce you to race them. Examples: tailgaters, poorly judged overtaking at dangerous spots, pulling along side you at speed gesticulating, shouting abuse out of the window for no other reason than that you're obeying the rules of the highway code by not obstructing a box junction, for example. The worst culprits are those who think that lane discipline does not apply to them and that the turn right lane only is -in point of fact- a dragstrip! This is the type of driving I object to, not as an owner of a high performance vehicle, but as a motorist generally.
Belive it or not, owning a performance car does not mean that you have to drive it like someone has spilt hot coffee on your lap all the time!!
Best.

Since ive got my scooby no one in a decent car seems to want to play , perhaps they are scared of being shown up, or maybe im looking too old and they assume i wouldnt want to race (that ageing things a bitch)..
I'm not far from Leeds, what Scoob do you have? Would love to come and tangle with you in my "lesser powered" 205 Gti when its completed. You may change your opinion then
Not all hatchbacks are sheds driven by spotty teenagers, i'm 31 ffs. You shoudl never assume that a std looking GTi is std either

QUOTE - uk96turbio
I had a Rover Tomcat as my third car....TBH the torque of the thing was crazy......was running about 270bhp...huge understeer in the wet though...got through tyres like schuey doing doughnuts....still like them....engine is a bit weak tho....it pulled much harder from 80 onwards in fifth.....compared to the scoob
Oh yeah, they're tunable alright! I had one blow me to pieces in my old standard uk turbo once on a dual carriageway, I tried to put my foot down but soon realised I had no chance - it was seriously quick (the engine only probably lasted for about 5 more miles after that though LOL!). I just politely backed off the throttle and hoped he hadn't noticed that I had been trying!
That was when I thought I was captain invincible in my scoob, I've grown up a bit since then.

*yawn* been there done that.
the recent one was last year october
driving in rotherham.
when a chavmobile with 4 goldie looking chavs, tailgating me (doing 40 on a 40 road)
(dual lanes)
they eventually overtook me, and when they did they was looking at me smiling like if they got wind.
after 5miles down the road the chavmobile was parked up on the bus lane.
waited for me to pass, then got to my **** again.
after 30secs.
i must have a heavy right foot suddenly
and i can't see them no more
