New shape vectra V6 cool or not cool

Sit back and think about this please .........
Steve is a very fashion concious type of person ...... he takes care in his appearance worries what other people think and currently drives a porsche
Within a few posts we have got a 24 year old fashionable single person driving a vauxhall omega / signum / vectra. WTF is that all about.
Reality check time matey ......
You currently drive a 944 turbo and an old vectra as a work hack. Up till a few weeks ago an E36 M3 evo was on the horizon for you, best car in the world etc. You have been to the ring twice and knocked up 12 laps. I dont think you've done any other track days or have any planned? I also dont see you tinkering around getting ya mits dirty changing oil / brakes / changing plugs etc which is the sort of stuff you do with cheap track cars. Why dont you buy the M3 you want, buy another £3K work car to go with it. Use the M3 for fun and also for the ring trips you have planned. Lets face it you aint gonna be there every month so it wont be too expensive to run?
I also know that your big enough and certainly ugly enough to let me say what i think on here.

I don't mind getting my hands dirty on cars. Hell, my previous cars I did all sorts. With the 951 I simply don't want to in fear of cocking it all up.
Nothing would give me more pleasure (except maybe unleashing my load over Abi Titmuss' face) than having a track car and spending time doing stuff to it - with the Porsche I just never wanted to.
The Vectra is a car for day to day use only. It's everything I want/need plus more for good money.

Insurance isues and running costs.
Top motor. I love them but not ideal for me at the moment, John.

If I "can't" sell the Porsche then the bet is void as that is not a matter of choice on my part. However, if the Porsche sells which I'm confident it will now (better time of year and proper advertising) then you're on!!!!

Oh and by the way i always remember a TVR garage doing the I'll sell it on your behalf thing too.....You spoke to the garage came up with a deal on how much etc etc. The next day a car transporter turned up at your door and took your car away with a cheery smile and wave. Next day the guy goes down the forecourt to see his car and its not there. Goes inside asks the guy where it is and he says we aint picked it up yet sir......hmmmmmmmmmmm car is gone never to be seen again.

The only reason your porsche wont sell is that you wont be willing to take a pill on it mate ...something you invariably will have to do

Only had 1 bloke look at it and he quite frankly was clueless. i did a thread he was such a nobber.
Since then, just had random emails asking questions - I answer them.....then nothing!! All people want is pics pics pics.
If you know what a 951 looks like, and you are familiar with the colour "metallic grey" then you're 99% there. The remaining 1% of confusion should be settled by the pic of every angle of the car including the interior pic from the f$cking advert they emailed me from!!
If you like the car, COME AND F$CKING LOOK AT IT!!!
Sorry. I'm done now.

seat leon cupra ........I know you wont agree with me mate coz you will swear black was white if i said it but i reckon for £11K that would be close to the top of my list.

Yeah nice car. It's a hot hatch though. I assume you mean the 'R' ???
Not exactly a motorway cruiser tho.
Also, I wouldn't swear black was white cos you said it - as I said, if I'm offered alternatives then great. Seems that people aren't reading my criteria.
Reminder to all, not buying this car for "cool factor" - I stopped doing that at 20.

I've got a 2.6 Gsi, and there is really anything wrong with them. On the motorway they are excellent cruisers, and travel safely and quickly with minimum fuss or motorway noise. I must admit, that on the twisties, you would struggle with a uk WRX due to the obvious 4wd of the Scoob. But they (GSi's) don't handle that badly for front wheel drive cars.
I got my car for 16k almost 2 years ago. At the time I was considering a CTR, ATR, M3, Scooby (various models), and an Evo 5.
But with the deal I got on the Veccy, (2yr warranty, AA cover etc) I thought I couldn't go wrong. And in the 2 yrs I've had it, not one thing has gone wrong with it.
Now I'm a happily married man, but the girls at work love it. At the tiny age of 28 now, I hardly think of it as an old mans car.
It's a matter of taste, and requirement. In all fairness I too like the Mondeo ST220. But I don't like Ford. And I don't see many Vectra B Gsi's about, so it's a little different to the other sport saloon that fill up the car park. ( Scoobys, ATR's, Beemers)
All the best mate, I don't think you will be that disappointed.
