I can't believe I'm sayin this, but to a degree, yes Pete is correct.
If I had anymore than a shortish drive to work, my Evo would not be the everyday car.
I can't compare scoob and evo with like for like power, but my scoob (rr'd at 270ish bhp) would not be any competition for the Evo (320-330 bhp).
The ride (mine has the Extreme fast road setup) is quite harsh....but it doesn't bother me.
Running costs compared to my scoob are very marginal.
Each to their own I suppose, but I love mine

I personally prefer the drive of an RS over a GSR (My GSR has a full RS diff set up so no AYC) My personal opinion is its just easier to push. There are others who prefer it the other way though of course who find the RS set up a bit of a handfull

They are no quicker than any Scooby yet costs WADS more to keep running - then when they are on the road they knock all your fillings out!!

As for them being a 'hard ride' - I presume that because you are ageing & suffering? Yes it's a little harder but not to the extent that people whinge about. I think most people would call it 'focussed' rather than 'barge like' when comparing to a scoob

Evos are for those who like cars that look as if they have driven through a Max Power magazine with a plastic magnet attached ..... tacky, ever so tacky!
Carry on .....

Heres one for you then, currently have an my00 ra limited, had two rr done on DIFFERENT roads and one came out with 249bhp @ the wheels, on a colder day made 256bhp @ the wheel both were over 320bhp @ the fly. Car weighes 1240kgs and has a set of close ratio gears 19.7mph/1000rpm 5th ratio.
So here is the question which new evo is going to feel quicker ?

"Mitsubishi's sales have slid 41% in the past year, catalysed by the revelation that the company had systematically been hiding records of faults and then secretly repairing vehicles."
Evo owners have lost another £1000 now
Lol, fancy hiding the number of faults and secretly repairing the vehicles Thought Evo were bullet proof?

Funny, I had 406 BHP with a turbo, FMIC, injectors/pump, remap, exhaust & inlet on standard UK MY00 long block nearly 2 years ago, it was running the original clutch as well, and the engine is in another car still running fine, the long block never having been opened from new. Must have been good chocolate they used on those pistons On the same dyno session a decatted MY00 UK Turbo did 221 BHP.

Although I'm running the risk of being shot down in flames by babber, I can recommend buying an Evo 6. I had mine for 4 years, 3 of those running approx 360bhp, with standard internals.
It never missed a beat, servicing wasn't particularly expensive (if you can afford to buy it, I think you'll be able to afford the servicing), ride was firm but well damped, tank held an inadequate 50 litres (not 40), averaged 18mpg, AYC was fine, no trim ever rattled, looked great and had true rally pedigree.
Is it better than your RB5? Don't know (neither does babber ), but I can tell you it's a fantastic car and you should have no reservations about buying one
