i didnt say he wasnt affected, i said no one else is affected, which they are not ...FACT.

ahhhh...the old "high horse" argument. From the family of arguments including "racist" and "pc". Allways used when the person thinks he will elevate the attacker to a position with such a label in the hope he will shut up for fear of adding to his new status as a "high horse" "PC" whatever.
However, in this case...as in most others...the label is a load of crap. To say driving uninsured is deserving of the grief he's getting is not high horse at all....its "normal horse". You want to lable someone lable him......because hes on a dwarf horse with no legs sitting in a ditch.

paul-s has done a bad thing. No question. He knowingly broke the law. Now why is his knowingly driving without insurance any worse than all your knowingly driving faster the legal speed limit?
He didn't cause an accident.
Neither did you.
He could have caused one.
So could have you.
Would the misery caused by his crash be any worse than the misery caused by you crashing and injuring or killing someone whilst driving illegally over the posted limit? No.
I say people caught speeding should get a life time ban, no question. And a second offence, 10 years jail. There sorted.
Somehow I doubt that sounds vey appealing to most of you. Me neither, so give the guy a break.

OK, why doesn't everyone list their motoring offences on this thread? Then everyone can be morally judged by everyone else.
If you haven't actually been caught, then please try to be honest and list all the times you have gone over the speed limit, driven without insurance (intentionally or unintentionally), drievn without road tax, bald tyres, defective lights, you get the idea.
Anyone who has not got any of the above can then be crowned, and we can all bask in their high moral glow, hopefully with some of it rubbing off on us so that we can be better people.
Any takers?

do you belive driving over the legal limit increases the chance of a crash?
most on here would say not....in which case the only negative implication of the action is to get nicked.
do you belive driving without insurance reduces the chance of an acciddent?
most on here would say not in which case the only negative impliaction of the action is to screw someone over finacially whether its for the cost of a bumper or the cost of a 24 hr nurse for life.

Funnily enough, exactly the same applies to a crash caused by someone driving inappropiately quickly and causing the same scenario, except that he will claim off the guys insurance. But, as has already been pointed out, you can bet your insurance company will wriggle out of paying because you got prosecuted for speeding. Even if they don't, I'm sure the paralysed guy will feel much better, even with all that money that the reason his life is fcuked is because it was down to speeding rather than driving without insurance!

I find it rather disturbing that people constantly refer to the fact that you cannot 'make a claim' against someone without insurance as opposed to being concerned about the fact that whatever type of offence you commit may cause injury or death to someone!
For the record, I have had both speeding convictions and insurance convictions. I broke the law, I paid the price, I got on with it.
I suggest you all do to.
