if anyone spent £1,200 on a brake upgrade for a 205 then they need their head seeing to
thats literally chucking money away, there are an amazing array of upgrades for a fraction of that

Have you found any parking spaces for me yet? I reckon if you sqeeze that lardy golf over a bit the old girl could snuggle up in your garage

I'm going to follow Gutmans advice and buy a set of DS2500, strip some of the interior out and remove the spare wheel for the trackday and see how I get on
Now, is that full fat coke, diet coke, cherry coke, coke with vanilla or coke with lemon??

Please tell me you weren't one of the bunch at autosport wearing the essex scooby crew jackets .........lol .......... if you admit to that then Ive changed my mind, you can keep ya coke and yeah i think £1200 on a set of brakes is a very wise investment

Can I ask a question? How come the 205 is so revered and yet the MK1 Saxo which, aesthetically at least, is similar and goes pretty well in VTS form gets the cold shoulder? It handles well and seems to grip forever. 125 - 130bhp standard and weighs around 900/950 kgs. What is the big difference? Especially when an older VTS and a late GTi will not cost much different in the first place.

Nothing wrong with the VTS. It just isnt a drivers icon yet. Give it a few years and maybe it will be up there and maybe it wont.
The difference is you can get a 205 for well under a grand and an Mi16 modded car for about £2K..........You cant get the VTS for that at the moment.
I could also be that a good few on here happen to own 205's of course. So we are a little biased.

Saxo is not as hardcore. I still think they look pretty good, but they're just a bit soft and not retro enough.
They're also not very good for anyone with feet bigger than size 8.
Besides, nothing drives as well as a 205

Options that will cost a fraction of who ever you were talking to, probably people like AP:
Peugeot 306 GTi6
Peugeot 206 GTI 180
Peugeot 306 HDI
Hi-Spec Motorsport - lots of different options
Wilwoods - dynalite or midilite
All the above need 1.9 hubs as a starting point
All the above offer an amazing upgrade from about £100 right through to around £750 dependsin what you want
I have hi-spec racing brakes, and they are better than AP's ive had in the past for my scoob (well they feel better)
