Just spotted this post. I have both originals & replicas. The replicas have been round a particularly unforgiving track recently with absolutely no ill effects. My thinking was that they will keep the car looking good & if I knacker one it's £££ less to replace! They are undoubtedly not quite as strong as the originals but the bonus is they're slightly lighter. The finish is OK (Obviously not the same fabulous quality as the Prodrive) & is acceptable for the price.
Same with everything by Prodrive that gets ripped off:
PFF7's: Priced too high so a huge space in the market for replicas.
Prodrive badges: Prodrive won't do them but the demand is huge so the gap gets filled.
PPP: Expensive & compromised, so 333 is produced at a cheaper price & addresses the ppp shortcomings.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not neccessarily knocking Prodrive (how can I when my own car has been 'driven through the Prodrive factory & everything stuck to it on the way through'), as they have development costs, warrenty issues & Mike's wage to pay I'm sure, but the high price leaves a big space for replication!

BTT... in light of the recent cracking of a copy. Thought it might be good to go over some points that Mike raised and Dare answered.

Who makes the PF7s that Revolution sell? Do these come from Dare? If so then having VIA 690kg approval makes me feel a bit better.

Anybody else had problems??

Tony.

Tony

OK then, I'll give you a starter for 10.

I would love to see the documentation to go with the VIA & JWL testing. Call me a cynic, but I find it a remarkable coincidence that the logos appear in exactly the same place on the wheel as they do on the original that was used to copy from.....
