P1 is so much faster and better handling than standard uk classic.I have had mine for nearly five years with no problems.Service costs seem to be the same as my old 95 impreza.Was going to sell it this year but will keep it and buy Escort Cosworth for the wife then i will have the best of both worlds.

Servicing costs ARE exactly the same as Classic Impreza.
With reference to other replies in this thread, you know the ones, all I can say is.....

Funny how all these threads end up as a 'mine's better than yours' thread. The p1, when it was first released, was the fastest UK supplied scoob. With a UK scoob, atleast the dealers won't laugh at you when you call in for an oil filter. I should know, i have an sti 4. Plus, it's one of the best looking scoobs ever made (flame suit on!). So what if it is a bit softer and doesn't have dccd? Everything else on the p1 is basically the same as an sti of the same year.
Most people grow out of the ' mines bigger than yours' phase, not long after they ditch their nappies and step up to 'training pants'.

You missed the point, 'coupes'. 22b's, type R's and P1's are the only two door versions available, which will make them collectable in the future, no matter what your opinion.

You really do define 'a troll' don't you pslewis. I love my car, as do you I presume. I can also appreciate other cars such as a P1. What you are saying is that anyone who buys a p1, is a mis-guilded goon. How can they be wrong when most P1's still fetch 15- 18k??? Oh, and mines better than yours!!

to me isee it as were all scoobie owners.its not a matter of competing for whos got the best model.and someone earlier said the p1 had not enough usable low down power .not good for uk roads.when i bought my p1 i wasnt thinking about how much shopping i could get in the back

All I know is, I prefer the stiffer bodyshell, the extra power and the superior handling of my P1 to my MY00 standard uk turbo that I used to own. P.S do your homework as to why they rally 4 door cars.
