Sounds to me like a revenge prosecution because they initially though she was holding a mobile phone and she wasn't. Spiteful and unecessary I think.

EH?

She was stopped and ticketed for holding an apple. Basically, not being in proper control of the car whilst turning a left hand bend. They can't say it was a mobile at first, then change it to an apple.

GSM1 - If CPS want us to prove the case - then that is what we have to do. Thousands of pounds are spent on all sorts of cases each day to try and prove offences, that is just the way it is.

Besides the helicopter would not have been tasked to do that specific job - it is multi tasked. i.e as it travelled back from doing an area search for a stolen car it would have asked to take some photos for this incident. The same will go for the patrol car.

Don't you think its better that if a case go's to court - you have all the evidence at your disposal.

it was her own fault. she should have taken the apple into the left hand so her right hand could do the steering

Such a well thought out response!!! We're not all the same as the ones you so eloquently describe.

plus she was stupid enough to be eating when the police was behind her.

She should have eaten the evidence & thrown the core out the car behind her

Hmmm, but it's ok for you to generalise all bikers as tailgaiters.

Generalisation is rife on here anyway. I think my words were 'tend to do' rather than 'all do' but fair point. Besides like I said, I was a biker and in them days it was drivers not using their mirrors. Now I'm in a car it's bikers not giving room. There is a pattern there and we're ALL guilty of it.

issue on bikers - when they come up your ****, are they there for a reason? to get slipstream, less air disturbence there or wanting me to go quicker or move over? have no problem with them being there just useful to know their thoughts...

I'd say they're just being over friendly at that point. I hope you at least get a drink out of them first

No idea why they do it. It's not like they have far superior brakes if anything should happen in front. I suppose they're just a bit impatient, well, that or Despatch riders

Anti-biker? Not me. I was one myself once until I got fed up of dodging wayward motorists who forgot what their mirrors were for, etc. I'm just realistic about the fact that if a motorcyclist gave more room than they tend to do the cigarette would have been very unlikely to get anywhere near his visor.
Yeah, and when thrown out of a car window at 30 mph the *** just floats to the ground within a few feet, the wind never catches it and blows it very far does it? And what about when they are overtaking etc

Anyway, until you're driving a hydrogen powered car you can stick your anti-pollution ramble. Hypocrisy doesn't entertain me.
Why am I a hypocite? You choose to needlesly throw away *your* personal litter, I dont.
