Arron mine was £ 123.02, made up of oil filter £4.50, sump washer £.95, oil £27.00, consumables £4.25, labour £68.00 (1 hr), Vat £ 18.32.
Your dealer is takeing the **** mate, its only an oil and filter change and Quick visual inspection + tyre pressures no wheels come off brakes just checked through holes in wheels etc I dont even think it should even take as long as 1 hr and I should know as I have been serviceing cars for 20 years (Now an rac patrol).

So it seams that we have a difference of nearly £110 between the cheapest and most expensive 5000 mile service on a WR1, (at least mine was about average at £123,) How can there be a difference of £110 ?, Time to get an answer from Subaru Uk after all its the reputation of Subaru thats at stake.

Just to balance the story, I had my car serviced at the same garage and was charged £41 inc VAT!!! I did discus the pirce before hand so that's where you may have gone wrong Arron?
They have always been extremely helpful to me.
F
BTW they did wince at my negotiation saying that thier children wouldn't eat tonight etc. I replied that they should just overcharge the next buffont ******* that walks through the door with a poofy WR1. Perhaps they took my advice

Are you based at Railton Road on Woburn Road Industrial Estate?
We are moving our business there and a couple of our Engineers thought I was following them around recently when they saw a WR1 twice in a week!
Dis you know a chap called Dave Brown from FPS in Luton a while back?
Lots of questions, just being bloody nosey!
Cheers

According to my dealer the new MY05 STI with DCCD only needs servicing @ 10K with NO oil change at 5K.
Anything different between the DCCD on WR1 & STI to warrant the extended oil change?

All previous supply of car and work has been carried out without a quibble and nothing has been too much work but this to me is a pi55 take.
Back to the Welch group for more realistic service work.

I also know about service costs BUT if you take time to read the post you will realise that the cost varies TOO MUCH.
All I wanted was to give the service work to the dealer who supplied me the car.
They took the pi55 their loss not mine.

Have they got Petter Solberg doing oil changes now or something ?
I think that some Subaru dealers have a stock of parts they bought in before Subaru UK announced price drops across the parts range. Therefore dealers who have old stocks that they must now sell cheaper are now stacking up the labour charges to make up the shortfall.

Given that's what they're quoting for a 10k service, together with the low prices they seem to be charging in general, it has to be a mistake.
I'm surprised they haven't held their hands up to their error yet.

some people aren't bother about stuff like that, even when asked again.
one lad at work had a 52 plate vectar, when as about stamps/warranty he wasn't arsed, so a service of plugs, oil/filter and oil filer, and my time cost about £65.
