samco induction hose

Hey guys I just fitted mine last weekend, damn what a pain to fit!!! It took me 8 hours all in all!!!! I didn't remove the Inlet Manifold. Had to break the nozzles of the inlet mani to do the job though. Take the thing out was much much harder then put the new one back in - but also that was bloody hard. Unfortunately the Samco also didn't fit 100%, had to shorten it a little bit in order to fit my 98 WRX.
After all the result is great, I got a peak of 1.3 bar but all of a sudden after the exchange I got a peak of 1.5 bar in 2nd Gear!!! and that was not even the end : ))
Now it's hard to retune my AVC-R in order to maintain a max. boost of 1.3 bar, it always wants to overshoot : )
Anyway I have a question to the guys which also use a Samco Pipe, could it be that the spool up takes longer then the standart one as the diameter is much bigger? What are your experiences? Moreover the sound while shifting is like I would have fitted an "air to atmo" blow off valve even though I m using the original one. It sounds also like a little (pfiiipf). Just wanted to know if I am the only one with those experiences?
Cheers Chris

my car is in the garage at the moment getting the pipe fitted, and once its on ive got to drive off boost until mapped but i think i can wait 1 day i will know on saturday what it sounds like on boost

The induction silicone pipe on its own will not make a big difference to your map, boost or spool but you need a remap if you change the filter and shorten the inlet tract.
