I believe that H&H have also made a few 600 NE doubles in recent years and that there has been an increase in demand for them. They had been withdrawn from production for some years and the 700 was introduced as a replacement, perhaps more as a political move because they said they would stop making the 600. I believe that they are now making both.

This might be down to increasing availability of sustainable elephant hunting in Africa. In some areas the local villages get to vote on the number of elephants to be taken and get to select the animals to be shot. As elephants are prone to having troublesome members among their ranks this works well for everyone and the actual numbers shot are very low. The village gets all the cash from the cost of the elephant ticket and so the money is being used for development and because the legal shooting is worth so much to everyone poaching has stopped because there is peer pressure on anyone who might consider such a thing. This is hardly rocket science but has been good for both the human and elephant populations plus the tourist industry, those who want to shoot an elephant and, of course, companies like H&H.

It is good to see that sustainable development to the advantage of all can take place provided that the green nutters/do gooders/PC lot are kept out of it.

Why don't you put a sticker on filler cap "DIESEL ONLY". That won't be much use for motorcross bikes and the're probably too thick to cotton on. Do tell the Mrs to ignore it though
