I think its Section 5 Chris along with automatic and burst fire weapons; they were Section 1 before prohibition.

Pete wont withdraw it, hell come back in a while and call us numpties.....

Surely a German Shepherd is also known as an 'Alsatian not an 'Alsation?

True; bizarrely they arent prohibited in Northern Ireland. Isle of Man and the Channel Islands arent part of Great Brittain of course.

GC8 has already given the answer. It is possible to fly to NI and shoot when you feel like it. So that's fantasy man's Magnum sorted out, back to the car jackers.

We'll agree to disagree on that, there's no way he can legally hold a Magnum revolver in the UK. I'm also pretty sure there are now stringent restrictions on going to another country to shoot, i know for a fact the Isle of Man will very rarely let tourists shoot handguns on the island. There is a common misconception that you can just waltz abroad and blat off round after round, even Spain don't let you anymore.

Only reason i'm pushing is that after all the hype my friend has gone quiet, he hijacked a good thread with all his hype and didn't back it with substance.
We all know he's a bullsh****r but on a subject so close to my heart just feel like twisting the knife!

Its a handgun

Its called a Magnum

............... and its legal - you need to take your blinkers off and look around at all possibilities, think outside the box!!

Its still possible Chris; the only relevant law is that of the host country. Shooting isnt difficult but actually owning weapons as a non-resident is usually the difficult part, due to the licensing system not providing for it. (Im not familiar with the law in the Isle of Man btw)

I suppose that Pete may be correct; although Im sure this is just a coincidence. Single shot weapons with a barrel of 24"+ (IIRC) are legal. This being the case, a .222 Hornady Magnum or maybe a .458 Holland & Holland Magnum (!) are all possible. Sooner him than me though; Ive shot some large calibre handguns and an invitation to shoot a .458 H&H would be met with a curt 'f*ck off!'

Not much fun today Geoff, but thanks for asking. I was a little surprised by Telboy, perhaps he was having a trying day?

LOL... I've been thinking about this a lot. What I've come up with is that he was being a bit snippy on the "It's much more friendly in here" thread as an ironic joke. Unless you two have fallen out in the past?

Far from it; Ive always got along with him and along with yourself, hes one of the few Muppets whose posts Id read. I thought that hed missed the irony in my original post and mistaken me for one of the ScoobyNet rightwing militia. Saying Id 'got a flamer' really needled me; what next, accusing me of having a VTA dump valve ffs? Of course, perhaps I missed the irony in his post.....

Why would ANOTHER scare thread of a Car-Jacking be MORE serious than that of a handgun??

No good comes out of worrying people with car-jacking threads .... nowt we can do about it, it serves no purpose whatsoever

Serious then?? Hardly think so! Its only serious to those involved!

It can be an unforgiving place at times. It's more about how you respond rather than what you do, as to whether you enjoy it. Gridlock Mikey has a flamer kit, white wheels, and a vta dump-valve, but he's thick skinned, and gives it all back with a wink. Likewise, Tel isn't a mooning gnome that gets bummed while wearing women's clothes, but that doesn't deter us.

I thought my 'Marquis de Sade rules; punches below the belt are compulsary' remark was quite funny; but the ****** ignored it.
