Sausages again this time?
been keeping an eye on the forum from time to time, waiting for the spring to come and track day action etc to start again.
During the cold months however, I have taken an interest in road rallying and have now done my second 12 car with Malton Motor Club in the scoob. Trust me it opens your eyes. Sure as hell won't be putting lowered springs on the car.
Also been to watch a few rallies and marshalled at the Malton Forest rally just before xmas. Off to Castle Coombe in 2 weeks for the advanced saloon course, then to 3 Sisters (Wigan) for skid pan lessons. And finally back to Croft in early July with the Ford boys. Nice to be busy eh!
My interest is certainly moving more to the rally side of scoob ownership - so the Rallydrive course suits me fine - so long as I remember where that bleeding pothole is by the rallycross course. I will certainly walk the track first.
Dave
PS: sausages it is - might need the BBQ to warm our hands.

That's one fine motoring related past time you've got there!
I think you'll find I may be picking your brains as to some decent events to visit this year...
The potholes in question are;
1. After the main straight through the 'chicane/squeeze' and on to the short straight that comes after the 90 degree right hander, the hole is 20 yds up this straight slightly left of centre. You can miss it if you keep left running slightly wide.
2. As you exit this short straight and through the 90 degree left hander, the next pothole is 20 ft along, high up on the right hand side of the track. Just on the line.
Hopefully these will have been filled in (CB? Especially No 2..)
A track walk is reccomended though, as a few more may have appeared...

One thing I have found out is that there are plenty of local rallies on all the time, from tarmac stage rallies at Croft through to forest runs up in Dalby. If you live in Yorks it is pretty easy to watch an event every month. In fact I plan to wander along to the KallKwik rally this Sunday, which is running through Dalby and Cropton forests (my backyard so to speak).
Would be more than happy for some of the WYIOC boys to come along - just remember that rally spectators are a funny breed .

Come on folks, roll up, roll up for the cheapest trackday in the UK this year. Over 8 hours of open pit lane fun with no huffy rules and regulations beyond basic common safety sense. Where else can you enjoy the full performance of your car safe from prosecution for less than the price of a tank of fuel ?

Just an idea, which I had whilst using said machine to install The Racing Line's sign (Chris knows what I'm on about)
Looks a bit like this
can hold two people in complete safety.
Would probably work out at an extra fiver or so each for the opportunity for some stunning photos.
Thoughts?

Deposit was posted 25th Feb - has it been received, because I'm still shown as unconfirmed?
As you say a great chance to check out the car handling - and given that I had the geometry aligned last week to dial out the understeeer I am keen to get on the track again.

Red Man, the address I gave out is my mums (to deflect any undesirable interests from where my car is ) and she has confirmed that she has received one letter for me. I'll be seeing her on monday, when I expect it will be yours, plus another one by then from Jon Cass. I'll presume it is yours and confirm you
