Sorry to but in fellas.
Despite being a Scooby enthusiast for years, I have just a few months of actual ownership under my belt. As such I feel like a puppy. Without wanting to kiss ***, I just wanted to say this is a cracking thread.
I've often heard people talk about the old school with affection; now I understand why. Taking my RA to the 'Ring in the Autumn.
Best Wishes

nope, i was on the grass at Wehrseifen, half a lap earlier, did that cockup all on my own, well sort of, i'd just passed a GT2 and superbike just before but completely forgot about the tightest corner on the track aproaching. the 911 was a peice of cake after that.

I wouldnt ask Rich what happened after Wehrseifen and expect a usefull answer Tim. The daft bugger pressed the stopwatch early, so at first i thought it was a 7:55 lap.
If you remember the footage from that lap was played to a packed crowd in the Lindenhoff bar, back in the good old days when everyone used to film their laps then put on a show in the evening. I remember the bikers being gobsmacked at how fast the car accelerated down T13.

1...a hell of a lot of rain
2...a very wet track

3...Stef going straight on (cutting the grass) more than round the corners ...
Memories.... those were the days

There were several more 'excursions', but they were all down to me introducing CK1 to it's rallying heritage, which isn't easy whilst driving round a circuit I'll have you know!
Hoppy.
I'm sure most of my passsengers remember their laps for one reason or another!
Tony.
Photo's of me with hair!!!!!!!!!! Is it that long ago????? I've had none for absolutely yonks now! I look much better though, and it saves all the rearranging to hide the scalpy bits!
John.
Yep, we did have some laughs. There was no doubt that your value of life was greater than mine.
But, your Westie was still a Cossie at heart, and I was The Cossikiller.
I think it would be rude not to come and see some of you guys again at a track somewhere. Germany sounds nice. Now, who does Scooby hire?

I do miss the "good old days". Have to see if the car budget will stretch to another scoob next year.

I remember the 'off' at Castle coombe quite well, I'd been a passenger in CK1 earlier in the day and we'd had a *ahem* little excursion across the grass during my lap. I remember getting back to the paddock and sparking up about five **** all in one go due to my nerves being frazzled, I think I was still shaking the following day.
Stef, did you know I didn't dare have any more passenger rides with anyone for a few years after that? John Felstead finally cured my trackday fears after a good blast around Bedford a couple of seasons ago
Tim, nice pic matey Where's that one of me and Rich Askew trolleyed in the Lindenhoff?

Sal, I thought it was you who was in the car with Stef at Castle Coombe. I was following when Stef lost it and went backwards into the tyre chicane. Your face said it all! I thought 'that's different!'

The good banter between You and Mike Rainbird were classics and a miss. I still have a copy of Cossie killer at the ring, one of the best videos ever! Think I might watch it tomorrow, will see if I can recognise any of the track from gt4 aswell. The last time I seen you was at a track day at croft years and years ago, Mike Wood and Pete Croney were doing £5 demo runs in the new bug eye Impreza. I rember being in with Wood and behind you, he could not keep up with CK1, ha ha good old times. What made you sell the car in the end though? were did it go? Was it scrapped after the big hatch back shunt? Its still got to be the most famous scooby ever on scoobynet and of course the best colour good to see your back for a short while.

I was with 'Sticky Pete' when I intentionally reversed CK1 into the tyres.
I had been sliding all day but on that occasion the rear just went without any help, which is what caught me out. It was to be my final lesson, the days of 'Sideways Stef' were over.
The next Ring trip just felt weird. Driving round Brunchen and not looking out of my side window was a revelation!

Green Scoob.
Yeah, the old Scoob vs Cossie banter was what it was all about in those days, there were proper characters around then.
I just got out of the Scoob scene as it was all getting a bit silly. Tracks were getting too dangerous with everyone putting a bullseye on my bumper. At the end of the day, I had several great years, made some great mates and took a relatively standard UK Scoob as far as it was going to go. That's what it was all about for me. Had i have been in the most powerful Scoob it wouldn't have been the same, people expect you to be quick then. The fact CK1 was green just added to it's charm!
It's interesting that the original doubters on this thread haven't materialised since the 'flower arranging' post.
Does anyone know where Gary's new florists actually is? I'd like to buy a bouquet for the missus, and feel it only right that I support his new venture!
And it's good to see some people living up to their name, eh Geeky Boy?
Going back to The Ring, what times are people managing in 'normal' UK cars (ie, not STi's) with all their official extra power? I'm talking about good drivers, not the ones that can only get 8.33 after 140 laps!
I've said it a million times before and I'll say it again. The best mod by far on CK1 were the AP brakes. The amount of time they made up on a lap when used properly was awesome. Anyone remember those glowing disc pics of CK1 that AP used in their brochure? . How do the current standard brakes compare these days?
I'm def gonna show up somewhere soon (fade to Twilight Zone music.....)

Stef, 8:30 is possible in a std uk non STi scoob and on less than 140 laps. Not timed it yet myself though as filming isn't allowed
AP's were one of my first mods:
They really are the best but I don't think that they are needed as much on the Ring as other tracks of course.

ffs Stef, you stay away for years then we can't shut you up . LOL about Garys Flowers, I am sure 'petal' will be along shortly to 'arrange' his story!
re the standard brakes, they are still 'dodgy' hence people like Floyd going AP.

It would seem (as most of the oldies from SN probably have) that Stef has now grown up!!!
But not everything changes....... lets face it, Cossies are still better than Scoobs and my current car is better than anything Stef has!!!
Some of the heated/humourous discussions we used to have on here (when I was a regular Scooby Hooligan, prior to me being part of the Team ) do make me laugh...... Outside of SN, even getting down to the point of Stef and myself arguing who was better at GT on PS2 and who flaming earnt the most money in their jobs..... roflol. Talk about us both being over competitive and somewhat a pair of bellends!
Time moves on and we all change...... I'm even worse now Stef... so how have you progressed!!!!
Regards,
Shaun.

Stef,
glad to hear you are still keeping well You never did make it back up to Knockhill for some driving, after the time you came up with Michelle and only went round as a pax. We're there again next month if you were interested, though from the midlands it's probably just as far to the Ring...
Hope to see you at a track or karting event at some point again.

Considering I did an 8.28 in CK1 after 10 laps I'm fully aware of that, but thanks anyway!
Shaun.
Yeah, you were the mother of all bellends when you and Larj first came on the scene. Proper muppet!
Life's good. I've been seeing a beautiful 21yr old Italian girl for two years (and yes I know that means she was 19! ) I'm just starting up a new conservatory company after 8 years at my last firm too.
Wall.
I'm afraid I've taken a backwards step at the mo as far as cars are concerned. Had a Saab V6 for last two years. Got a new Range Sport coming in March if company goes as planned. Prob not the best thing to chuck around The Ring but I'd like to try.
Doubt I'd go back to a Scoob as like I said, I've done that. I know if I did I'd get a top one, Type 25 perhaps? Hmmmmmmmm......

Green.
The footage I've got from my three other trips makes CK@The Ring look like Blue Peter! There really is some awesome footage. Passing they guy in the Skyline who told his mates nothing passed him all weekend, and finally managing to overtake Martin Hadland's mental 580bhp Escort (my finest scalp! ) are just two highlights. All I've got to do is find the masters.
Hey Cem.
Boy, I loved that EVO of yours. A mate of mine had one similar, he's just got a FQ430. That's just mental!!! What you in now? Still R34?
And an everyone STOP posting pics of me with hair! I can't ever remember having any!!!!!!!!!!!!
