Had the £4k full suspension bike, and now ride a hardtail singlespeed. Not got the looks, not got the edge, but has a good deal of class.

Know what I mean?

I think you may well be more into the LOOK AT ME syndrome. Which is what most M3 owners seem to be. I have had 2 e30 2.3 m3's, 1 e36 3.0 and 1 e36 3.2, and while my mates stuck with their newer flasher e36's. I went back too the e30 the pureist m3 of all not for looks but for real driver appeal and the only car that comes in the same everyday feel and grin factor is the SCOOBY. You may like sitting outside the local disco, arm out the window factor, but i prefer and i'm sure the odd's are stacked with me. The look of absolute horror when their xe lease m3 is being tortured by the little RICE BOX. That by the way has a cult following the m3 could only DREAM of. Rant over.......
You need to calm down mate. Try Yoga or have a glass of wine. So many accusations in your post and you know nothing about me.
I've actually owned 4 Scoobs. Terzo with PPP(written off!), UK with PPP, a STi4 Type R with Link ECU and mods running 320 BHP and a STi7 with Ecutek/zorst/fully adjustable Leda suspension/AP Racing brakes etc etc.
Does any of that suggest I'm scared of rice rockets. I was driving modified rice rockets back in 1997 when YOU were probably posing in ya Beemer!
When I changed my car recently I could have bought a M3/Porker etc but bought a car that would attract FAR less attention.
You should really get your facts straight before you have a rant
In my post I was just posing a balancing arguement which many like you hate.

As for sitting outside my local disco etc etc Jeses ,you've decided to build a little image for me that suits you. If you had ever met me you'd know how really stupid that comment was.

Take a chill pill my friend and enjoy the weekend!

As I've said above John I take your point. There is however a cost which you never mention in your posts, which is your time. You are a well educated/trained young man and your time is worth quite a lot of money.
You must have spent a lot of hours researching and working on your car which actually equates to a fair amount of wedge in potential lost income( I know what you guys get for locums etc)
I suspect though that working on your car is also a form of relaxation/stress release in which case I fully understand.
Do you agree there might be some truth in my point though?

Cheers,Deep

Default M3 VS Scooby

I had an M3 an yep it was quicker than my brothers std imprezza, he chipped, decated and the rest was history on the sprint in santa pod.

I sold up, but could not get a scooby, mits evo or skyline, I miss the refinement. I went the 5.0 V8 route an the M5 is it all. ok maybe to 60 you might be ahead but after that game over.At motorway speeds there is no way from a 100 plus that a small turbo car can keep up all the way to 186

I admit the M3 is not quick enough for what its trying to be. But i remember i had to drive my brother imprezza to clacton to get my M5, the noise, ride and everything i was shattered after the 3 hour drive.

Then u sit in an M5 an you know why mine cost 75 grand new.It comes down to what you want and can accept.

Agree. I bought a C32 AMG,probably does'nt handle aswell as the M5 but sooooooooooooo comfortable.
I would still like a nutter rice rocket aswell, and will proabably buy a STi or Evo as a weekend plaything.

The new M3 might address the issue as it has 400 BHP!

Some guys from the M Forum's, the amount the spend on the cars is mad.

An Tubi performance exaust from the cat back is £1600 quid.

Nice site. When I was thinking about buying the M5 I rang up Birds to see what the tuning options were, they quoted me something like £700 for a carbon fibre Gruppe M induction kit that 'might' add about 5 BHP!
I bought the AMG because its supercharger made it more tunable. Since having it for over a year though I c'ant be bothered to tune it, it might spoil whats already a very capable fast cruiser.
Shame the new M5 is so ugly,I would have really liked to have one in about 18 months time when the price came down a bit.
Cheers,Deep.

The rant was yours not mine, I was simply putting the true facts forward. You seem to be obsessed by the local disco, you must hang out there in your wagon.
ps I think they're called nightclubs these days, and picture houses are called cinemas.
