Standard pads yes.

Every car can kill a set of standard pads in "one weekends hard work" so what does that have to do with a WRX, STI or any other Impreza?

But I guess you knew this all anyway?
I didn't know - but the brakes are appalling. Fit only for road use........do any trackwork and you will realise why there are so crap. Even if you used race pads.....they would still be sh1te.

No feel, no bite.....and fade too! The weakest part of most jap parts.

the brakes are ****e whichever way you look at them.
They are barely enough for the car in std. trim, let alone modified cars!

As for the dreamer on the 1st page who thinks that compared to most other cars on the road they are in supercar league....
WTF is that all about?
at motorway cruising speeds accelerating against even a 2.0l mudano will be an eye opener.
of course being a turbo they are easy to get to acceptable levels and relatively cheaply at that, but out the box? they aint quick people,

What possible use is that to a GT3 RS owner who will only use his car as it was intended!

When lapping the ring - how many times will he accelerate from standstill?

Now I know you're talking complete bo!!ocks.

4-pots with OE discs and uprated pads work fine on the track.

It may be better trying to talk bo!!ocks to someone who doesnt own the car and know a little bit about it.

you really are a wind-up. Nobody could be so dim.

What % of people buy there cars solely for track use. Driving on the road is nothing like a track. So many stop-starts etc.

So car manufacturers should advertise track times rather than 0-60mph and 0-100mph etc

My brakes are brilliant on the STi ...... the first ten laps they do the business as intended then it all starts with a little feedback in the steering wheel and gets worse and worse till im eventually treated to brade judder the likes of which its hard to comprehend.
Oh and on shorter circuits they fade to nothing after a 20 minute session.

I wonder how much they cost in comparison to the standard brakes in my 205 which stop me without fade everytime I mash them?

Bob5 i have to agree with geekboy; i've a lightly modded (), my00 wagon and after a few quickish stops from somewhere near the national speed limit *ahem* they fade like a chavs short term memory...the lack of bite and 'feel' is atrocious...go find yourself an esp equipped focus to play in and then you know how standard production cars brakes should feel...IMHO of course.

Okay as much as I would like to keep educating you, I've had enough laughs for one day.

Maybe some other time

@ 4-pots being ok for a lap or two then becoming a joke....that'll be nothing to do with the pads then

Signing off.

This whole discussion is so negative and pointless.

Wasteful comments comparing one car against another. You can never compare anything like a car against any other really. What works for one does not work for another.

"errrr no untrue. Every 1400kg monster maybe but a 1000kg car NOPE"

That is truly bollocks and uneducated. Pads will wear due largely to the material and the way they are used.

To all who make assertive, negative and not necessarily true statements:

Why use this forum if you don't own a Subaru and only have time to waste slagging it off. Go somewhere else. You are killing this forum for owners and fans of the marque - fewer people want to come here because of all the negative crap which is posted time and again, week after week.

Get a life.

before you sign off - take a read of the non sycophantic replies who are "not" agreeing with you.
