ru' dont forget the *twisties*
FPMSL

most on here would do well to look up two words in the dictionary, speed and traction.
although one is a by-product of the other they are quite different

God, my knackers are aching reading this. What a negative set of ba$tards you really are. If I hear wet twisties one more time I think I'm going to projectile vomit. It's like fookin' Groundhog Day every time one of these threads starts. Unfortunately you can never tell which innocuous thread's going to be the culprit until it's hijacked and taken off topic. This is a Subaru enthusiast's site and if you're not enthusiastic you should **** off and do us all a favour.

Isn't one answer 'because they can'? Try doing that to a Mundano, and you wouldn't get much for your money.

Horsepower can be like money; there's never enough, no matter how much you have.
Thanks RU'.... exactly what I was thinking....

People Mod Scoobs because.... as you will read amongst these pages... that's what you do to a Scoob... why limit yourself to 220 horses when you can have 300.... 400.... 500...... check out www.cruiseculture.net and have a look at some of the Banzai types on there.... Skylines with 1,350bhp!!!! done because a) you can and b) that seems to be the done thing.... NOT done because the car needed more power..... only the driver NEEDED more power..... analagies with drugs etc.... spring to mind.

I stand whole hartedly by my comments (and not through loyalty)

1. The WRX 'out of the box' is a bloody quick car
2. Having been the (proud) owner of a 2.5L v6 rep-mobile.. There is absolutely NO comparison performance wise.

I joined Scoobynet to be able to discuss my car with likeminded people who loved thier Scoobies..... Most of the time when I come on here I feel like I'm having to justify why I have one and why I love it to bits....

Scoobynet is becoming a thoroughly unpleasant experience lately!!

Although I'm not sure about the flamer kit bit... wouldn't mind one of those myself!

PMSL your 60-100mph 'thing' shows quite the opposite.

Your comment about that 4 pots are crap after a few laps of a track show you know very little about these cars.

I'm back.

some have commented about the brakes. Not the 4-pots being sh!te , which is what you are going on about. As I have said already uprated pads work a treat with OE discs and 4-pots. The 4-pots are not a weakness for trackwork - its the pads which are designed for road use. Uprated pads have there drawbacks such as being noisey, woody when cold etc.

Thanks for calling me young. Been a while since somebody has complimented me in that way.

I am going to add clarity to my posts......
the WRX is a very good car, Im not putting it down in anyway.
(Saying a car isnt quick isnt a put down)
however, as with all the UK Imprezas since time immemorial, FHI have taken the JDM car and whipped all the good bits out, strangled the power somewhat and punted it out for more money to the UKDM.
my beef is with IM/FHI for not letting us have the model varients we would like..

100% agree with Bubba about flamer kits though, and would include neons and vta's in there to

Cool

I would just like to say that I have a MY05 WRX SL, which is the fastest car I have ever owned, and my first scooby.

Its a great car more than fast enough for me, handles great and has all the extras that I wanted. Its the best purchase I have made and I love it.

Once again I think my WRX is the dogs and I wouldn't swap it for anything.

You obviously dont have a clue do you?

and btw the others have some distance to make up by 60mph.

a) cos it annoys you

b) I am not bothered by 0-60 one little bit. I want to have an understanding about know how a fast a car is through the gears, 60-100 gives me an indication of that, 0-60 does not.....as you can see from the chart I did.

c) You're an Impreza owner, of course you think 60-100 is rubbish

Yes, some do have a way to go to get to 60 quicker than a WRX (not as far as the WRX has to go to match the 60-100 time of the RS).....but

A focus RS is slower to 60 but faster to 100 than a WRX.

so between 60 and 100 it must be faster than a WRX....and by jove, what to my stupid figures that mean nothing tell me?

Prodrive reckon the standard WRX will do 0-100 in 15.9 (14.1 with the PPP).

If we're talking real-world, then I think 0-100 is pretty meaningless. Who's ever done that on the road? Not me, anyway.

How about 30 - 70 (after all, none of us ever drive at over 70 in the UK!)?

WRX does it in 5.7

I was doing it a favour then - with 15.9 to 100 it makes it the slowest 60-100 on the list!

I agree entirely 0-anything does not really tell you anything.

How about 30 - 70 (after all, none of us ever drive at over 70 in the UK!)?
That would be better....but not all manufacturers publish the figures.
