When you're flying hawks you need to monitor their weight on a daily basis. Not starving, just peckish (no pun intended).
There are other aspects too, it's a complicated subject.

No idea mate, you'd need to ask an expert. Less than a cat though i'd imagine. They seem to like cute fluffy yellow chicks a fair bit.

Nice pics Moses ![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
No idea why mine are appearing so small, they're bigger on my Mac here.![Confused](images/smilies/confused.gif)
Yeah you can get Saker falcons in the UK, but you'd need to check they're appropriate for the terrain where you live. You couldn't take a hawk/falcon that's evolved living over very flat land for example, and expect it to adapt to hilly/mountainous terrain - or so i was told.
Some birds like to sit in a tall tree until they see something to dive onto, if there are no tree's they're buggered! Others like to circle or hover until they spot their prey. Some like open grassy land, whereas others are happy to grash through tress/bushes chasing a rabbit or pheasant.
The diversity is pretty amazing.
