a) I wouldn't have had to force it into Oversteer to try and lose Understeer.
B) there would have so much power to Front wheels and my overcorrection wouldn't have been such an Issue.

Tony

Ps
Does that mean your going to have another go this year in your new 05???

If your still getting one??

I've just had the complete Type 25 suspension kit (springs, dampers, ARBs front & rear, anti-lift kit) fitted and a 4 wheel laser alignment done at Powerstation, so... no thanks

I thought your car was a UK Tony, in which case it wasnt DCCD, its a Viscous Coupling centre diff.

Unhappy

John, Nathan etc.

Appology for misleading everyone but I'd simply missed out But if fitted during a rushed "Cut and Paste" @ Work, dragged out of Office because of a Breakdown

why the change? You mentioned previously that your old set up with Eibachs was harsh and now coil overs??

Faffing 'ell

Everybody complains that scoobs are a understeering pile of toss.

Then when the top cheese at Fuji H.I gives in and makes it as tail happy as an over-excited spanial you all moan!

Mo,

The problem wasn't really the springs, it was the original Japanese-spec dampers which are rock hard, especially coupled with the stiff sidewalls of the RE070 tyres. The AST coilovers are adjustable, so I can set them as soft or as hard as I like.

No problems running A-DCCD in the scoob though the road isnt the best place to play with it (especially some of the lanes around here) so auto has most of the fun, car does oversteer slightly but the A-DCCD corrects that quite quickly

From personal experience though all the cars i have owned have been front wheel drive and as i have said before i am a young driver and its going to time me some time to learn how to drive this scooby, i have already booked a high performance car training day to help me...

I am just thinking the DCCD for me and those not so experienced (i know alot of you in this club attend regular track days etc so it probably doesnt apply) is probably not something good to play around with as it really does mean you have to understand the entire workings of a FWD car, a RWD car and a 4WD car.
Mate. theres more than DCCD to the 05 impreza. With wider tracks and totaly revised suspension, you can expect an improvement in ride, but the main thing is the switch from Suretrak to Helical front LSD. Honestly, I can't believe how few people on SN even bother to consider one of the most crucial components of the Subaru.

As for DCCDs being dangerous? Since when has anything varied been dangerous? A few years back, variable-assistance power-steering was viewed as "hazardous" because OH MY GOD! THE STEERING WHEEL FELT DIFFERENT AT SLOWER SPEEDS AAARGH! My mother's 307 has a varriable servo break, when you break lightly the resistance is fair, and when you hammer it, the servo overpowers and it feels like you're pressing a feather. Honestly gentlemen, there is a lot more automation going on in your car than you think, and the DCCD is just one of those points. If you think the DCCD is dangerous to drive, maybe you should get one and see... Mind you, having said that, if you crash in a DCCD-equiped car and think it was the torque-split that caused your accident, you shouldn't be owning a Subaru in the first place.

Hmmm... prehaps tad harsh maybe???

Or did you wake up one morning and instantly know how to drive like a pro?

Just out of interest, what Scoob have you got?
