Subaru dealers used to refuse to touch non-UK cars for servicing or warranty, is that still the case ?

Default Serviceing import cars

I'm looking at buying a new STi, possibly a eu import. Phoned Subaru UK, and whilst they don't authorise it, it is up to the individual dealer to decide whether they will do the work. They will not touch JDM models.

I would check with the dealeryou plan to take it to first, I know I will be before I purchase. Hopefully once they realise I've fully investigate the Euro market I might wangle a comparitive price.

Well i collect my new MY05 STi (WR Blue) hopefully this friday 11th. Yep, its from motorpoint, and has tracker monitor, sigma m30. Only trouble i had was being able to view the car before i bought it. Every time they managed to get the STi's in, they were almost sold that week before i could get time to view them. they kept telling me they have some down in derby, and all i had to do was to order one and they would bring it up, but its not advisable to sign for a car youve never seen.

In the end the salesman knew that i was serious about buying one, left him my phone number and got a call two weeks later saying they have brought one from their Derby branch to Glasgow (at their expense on a transporter) and will hold it untill i have seen it.

The rest they say is history . . . . .

Now if the bank would just get there fingers out of there @rses so i can pay the man.

what i did was simply phone around my 8 nearest dealers
ask for as much off as possible and see what they say

ended up driving 130 miles for the car as that dealer gave me the best deal
dont worry if your local dealer gives you a bad deal. there are plenty of others
