Ok, been out again (ta Rich) and was pretty insistent I was having one, but got confused again when I got in the STi on the way home.
One of the best looking cars imho, roof is great and I dont think many cars have that class of interior.
I still want one, but wish it was a touch faster. Worried I will miss the sheer power of the scoob, which is VERY addictive. VTEC is never a shove, never anything near a turbo but it does obviously liven up.
The cars couldn't be more different! Confused but very tempted still

Yeah but I love tinkering Vortech and Jackson types will beef up the lower rev range and gives about 40 bhp peak extra from memory. Given a standard one will outgun a standard UK turbo, I imgine it would be pretty tasty.
There's a turbo'd on FS on S2Ki at the mo

Can I chip in here?
I have a budget of 10k and one of the last UK Classic Turbos to p/x or private sell. So with a total budget of about £18k-£20k should I visit dealers or venture out into the Autotrader world? Are there many specialists or importers worth knowing about?
More specifically I recently drove a Civic Type R and the 'digital' steering was wierd (in comparsion to the Scoob), how is it in the s2000?
Thanks
Mark

Digital steering?
Its a much better car than the CTR - I was shocked at how gutless the CTR was. Personally I would never buy from a dealer, but thats just me
Jap imports are quite rare, and not much benefit over a UK car. In fact there are a few draw backs - half leather etc...
Euro imports seem fine though.
Rich's one is rather nice and in your budget.

My Track S2000
I think that looks fecking brilliant personally
Do it, a proper drivers car as for the impression of speed, thats the shove from the torque, very much a perceprion thing, what state of tunes the STi in- arrange a rolling start drag race with an S2k, unless your running silly power you will be surprised...

Rich drove my STi and im sure he would agree, it would obliterate an S2000. Fully agree on the perception bit though. I had a 270 bhp UK scoob and that only crawled past an S2000 flat out from 20 mph up to a ton.

I wanted a black or a red... ended up with a ladyboy blue one!
I think 70% are silver. All i know is i defo didnt want a silver one. That is why when i looked at the Bob Gerards site I didnt get a brand new 04 model, the only had silvers and grey in stock. Shame, cos i much prefer the alloys - but mine only had 7k on the clock when i bought it!

Thanks for the info.
The 'digital steering' was my non technical way of describing the steering feel of the CTR which I was told was the same on the NSX and I assumed the S2000. Steering feel is really a deciding factor, as it ticks all the other boxes
Newera seem to have imports circa 2001 for £16,000, but I'm encouraged enough to look for a Honda service private car. Anyone want a p/ex the cleanest classic Impreza........... in my street and lots of cash
Rich you have pm
thanks
