Well, having cried off the main event I can say it was great to see so many scoobies at Peas Pottage, and from there on into Brighton. Shame we didn't get a proper run across the Dyke road, but I guess we were lucky to get some clear tarmac. Next time we need to organise some road closures; anyone got some police cones??
Hope you all have had a good day! I'm glad my lowly WRX didn't get shamed by all the STi beauties.
Oh, and Tiny - you owe me a new front end; it's kinda all burnt after following you!!!
Ru' (red WRX with blackened front...)
ps hope you didn't spend too long in the queue for the car park.

What a nightmare!
Today was my first ever scooby meet and was well impressed with the turn out at Pease pottage. Some luuurvly looking motors. Then unfortunately a mile from Pease Pottage followed someone on to the A23 as I didn't know what route we were going and turns out the scoob I was following didn't know either nor did the scoob that was following me DOH! (lol)
So I lead us off the A23 through the country and up over the Beacon hoping to get back with the convoy but we never saw you. Never mind, we headed into Brighton and found a tonne of scoobs in the multistory and had a wonder round town and the pier. Shame tho cos I was well looking forward to the burn down there with everyone. Always next time!
I just wont follow Scooby TC next time! (lol) only kidding fella I didnt know what way to go either.
What way did you all go by the way? I will then know for next time!

What a good turnout, just under 60 I delieve.
Seemed to be lacking enough people who knew the route to Brighton, but our thanks have to go to Dyney for taking the bull by the horns and getting our little convoy safely to Brighton.
Due to family commitments we were unable to stay with you when we got to Brighton, but hope you all had a good time and all had a safe journey home.
Thanks

There were 69 Subarus, if you count the guy in the green GL Wagon who wasn't really part of the show. However, he came over with his camera phone and took some shots, so I counted him in for his actions. Also, as Keef69 was the first away, or one of the first, that's another reason to keep the tally at 69? Never seen the car park at the Pot of Peas looking so good !!!!!! Fantastic !!!!

Yeah it was good. Cool to see so many scoobs at once. Certainly made me realise how much I miss the loud exhaust of my old scoob. Was kinda starting to like the quiet drive until today when I heard you and the rest of them shaking the surroundings with that bootiful scooby burble! Definately next on the shopping list!

Yup, nightmare! I was the lead car, but getting everyone out of the car park was the problem. I travelled very slowly in the hope you would all catch up, but I know I lost many of you.
This was my first " ESC Brighton run" and I assumed something had been organised about routes etc. Then I get asked to lead you all in and up over the Dyke! I would be happy for future similar meets, to provide a small map for every car with the route on it, so we all keep together and maybe we could position 2 cars out on the road, blocking both directions till we all get out. I stopped on the main Dyke Road for a good 15 minutes and many of us got back together for the last run into the centre.
Also there was confusion over car parks. Seemed quite simple "Churchill Square car park" Only trouble is, there are 2 !!!
Anyway, a lesson learnt for other meets and to those who were following me in the first wave..... I hope you enjoyed the run, several clear bits and the awesome Devils Dyke bit was clear too!!

Oh yes what a great way to start the summer of 2005 of !!
24 Scoobs left from Thurrock , Meeting another 45 @ Pease pottage Great show Guy's & Gals !!
Was an awesome sight & Even better sound
Sorry about all those who got lost & Did not make it to Devils Dyke , Keef Done so well just keeping the 30 or so front cars together , Never going to be easy taking 70 Up & Over ..
But a lesson must be learnt , TBH I Thouhght that with so many locals , There would be enough who knew the route , But i was wrong !!
Maybe next time , Wriiten pace notes, Maybe an idea or 5/6 people who no the route if that is possible , Lead smaller groups out of Pease potttage & Down on into Brighton .
Thought the parking went well , Sort of 40 In Churchill 1 & 30 In Churchill 2 , But we got there & @ The end of the day the Cars were safe & Looked after by the Security , Nothing worse than walking way , Thinking is the car going to be in one bit on return .
Will do it again in the Summer
Was a great meet in Even better company , Thanks to all who took the time out to come along it is appreciated .
See some of you on the Posers cruise ( Southend ) On Sat & Maybe some more on Sun for the 1st trip to the pod ( The fast show )
Try & Get a few pics up in a while

Tiny,
will be up for this in the summer again as i missed out on this one due to not having a car!
If you do it again, the idea of taking smaller groups over the Dyke is better as its more manageable.
Looking forward to the next one!
